Linsin Joins Blank Rome

Blank Rome LLP announced that Gregory F. Linsin has joined the Firm as a Partner in the White Collar, Internal & Government Investigations practice group. Mr. Linsin brings more than 25 years of experience as a federal prosecutor and has an extensive background in the supervision and prosecution of complex maritime and environmental criminal cases with the Environmental Crimes Section of the United States Department of Justice. Mr. Linsin will be based in Firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Prior to joining Blank Rome, Linsin served as Special Litigation Counsel for the United States Department of Justice, Environmental Crimes Section. In this capacity, Mr. Linsin organized and led the national Vessel Pollution Initiative, which resulted in precedent-setting criminal prosecutions of commercial shipowners and operators for violations of international and domestic pollution requirements. He has also handled and supervised attorneys handling hundreds of investigations and prosecutions under the Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Clean Air Act, and the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships. Linsin has tried 10 federal criminal cases to verdict and supervised extensive grand jury and other investigations, some of which resulted in plea agreements and others declinations for criminal prosecutions.

Linsin is a frequent author and speaker on vessel pollution and environmental compliance issues, and has participated in various programs for the advancement of international cooperation in environmental enforcement. He served as a member of the United States delegation to the Legal Committee and Marine Environmental Protection Committee of International Maritime Organization, a United Nations agency responsible for establishing standards for maritime safety and the prevention of pollution from ships. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. Admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Linsin received his law degree from Antioch University School of Law, participated in a Masters of Arts program in American History from the University of Illinois, and received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Loyola University of Chicago.
