Sakhalin Energy: Maintenance Continues at LNG Train 2

Russian liquefied natural gas producer (LNG) Sakhalin Energy said on Wednesday post-shutdown commissioning was continuing at the second LNG train at its Prigorodnoye production complex.Comprehensive maintenance work, which began on July 9, had been initially due to last around 37 days, meaning the stoppages had been expected to finish by around this week. Damen Delivers New 'Mega-barge' to Combi Lift

Shipbuilding group Damen said it has delivered the 111-meter Damen Stan Pontoon 11226 RD mega-barge Tomsk to heavy lift and project cargo shipping company Combi Lift. The barge will be used in the construction of Gazprom’s Amur Gas Processing Plant near Russia’s eastern border, transporting some of the largest components to the site.This contract follows a 19 vessel order placed with Damen by Combi Lift that was delivered in May 2018. It was comprised of four Multi Cat 2608SD workboats, four Pusher Tugs 2612SD, four Side Floaters 8605SD and seven 89-meter Stan Pontoons 8916SD.

Sibur and Sinopec Link on Amur JV

Russian petrochemicals giant Sibur has signed several agreements with Chinese state-owned conglomerate China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec).One deal relates to Sinopec’s potential participation in Sibur’s previously announced Amur Gas Chemicals Complex (AGCC) in Russia’s Far East.Sinopec, Chinese oil and gas enterprise based in Beijing,  which bought a 10% stake in Sibur in December 2015, is expected to take a 40% share in the joint venture, subject to a final investment decision in the project, expected in 2020.“The partnership will allow the parties to tap into shared expertise and experience to maximise efficiency of new large-scale projects and to exchange best practices”…

Gazprom 95% Completes TurkStream Gas Pipeline's Offshore Section

Russian oil and gas giant Gazprom is progressing a number of gas pipeline  stretching across the Black Sea projects with three major projects already 95.5 percent complete, the company claimed.The TurkStream will soon see the completion of its offshore section, bringing closer a consistent the supply of Russian gas to Turkey and its neighbours."The Company continues to pursue the extensive Eastern Gas Program and to build facilities associated with supplying gas to domestic consumers and to China. Tug Delivery Kicks Off Major Project in Russia

With the loading of eight custom-made Damen tugs, German heavy lift company Combi Lift reached a milestone in the Gazprom Amur Gas Processing Plant Project in Russia. This officially marks the transition period between the project’s planning and implementation stages.Combi Lift, contracted by the Linde Group as the exclusive logistics partner for oversized and heavy cargo, chose to cooperate with SAL Heavy Lift in this project. On behalf of Combi Lift, SAL’s Type 161B vessel MV Annette loaded eight newly built tugs in the Waalhaven in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Combi Lift Orders 19 Vessels from Damen

Damen Shipyards Group said it has secured an order with German heavy lift company Combi Lift to build a total of 19 specially customized shallow draught vessels. The vessels will be used to transport oversized and heavy lift cargo for the Gazprom Amur Gas Processing Plant Project in the Russian Far East. Zvezda Delivers Nuke-Sub to Russian Navy

Zvezda shipyard (Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center) held a solemn ceremony dedicated to Submariner’s Day and to the end of overhaul of nuclear-powered cruiser Kuzbass, says press center of Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center. CEO of Zvezda shipyard Yuri Filchenok and Acting Armaments Commander, Pacific Fleet, Rear Admiral Igor Korolev, signed the acceptance/delivery papers at the pier during the ceremony. The Project 971 submarine was laid down July 28, 1991 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and launched May 18, 1992. The Kuzbass entered service with the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet on February 5, 1993 and operated in the Pacific and the Arctic.

30 Scientists to Study O&G in Arctic Ice, Vladivostok

Today Vladivostok-based Far Eastern Federal University (FENU) opened the International School of Ice Ice Mechanics to 30 students and young scientists from Russia, China, Korea, India, Indonesia and Norway. They will study the basics of field development of oil and gas in the Arctic ice of Amur Bay Vladivostok. Also they will explore the properties of ice and arrangements for its impact on the offshore oil and gas platforms. This research will help the young scientists in the future to become parties to large-scale projects for the development of the Arctic region. Amur Bay is selected for the training of the future polar chance. This time of year can be found near Vladivostok, the main types of sea ice, which exist in the Arctic waters.

Moroccan to Acquire Submarine from Moscow

Moroccan  King Mohammed VI’s upcoming visit to Moscow by the end of 2015 is expected to conclude negotiations to obtain the country’s first submarine from Russia, says a report in World Tribune. Multiple Moroccan and Russian media reports said negotiations about the price tag of the Amur 1650, which kicked off in 2013, are expected to finish. “The forthcoming visit of His Majesty the King has a historical and strategic importance,” said Moroccan ambassador to Russia Abdelkader Lachheb, according to Sputnik. The date of the trip this year has not been announced. “It is designed to give a strong impetus to the development and quality of bilateral relations and to deepen the strategic partnership between Russia and Morocco,” added the Moroccan envoy.

India Shortlists 5 Shipyards for $10.1 Bln Submarines Project

India's top government committee has selected five Indian shipyards to compete for an Rs 64,000-crore ($10.1 Bln) project to build high-tech submarines for the navy. The Indian Navy will soon invite tenders for building six conventional submarines after a high-level committee of the Defence Ministry submitted its report identifying shipyards capable of executing the project. “The Committee has visited all the shipyards in the country and has submitted its report recently. Germany Looking to Dock Submarine Deal with India

The German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen is visiting India lobbying for the purchase of German Stealth Submarines and European military hardware, say local media. Sources said that Ursula  talked of Eurofighter and [HDW] submarines in her discussions with Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. India reportedly asked Germany what all it could offer if a direct deal was struck between the two countries on next-generation submarines. The move comes after India recently announced to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets from France. Gazprom Boosting Gas Industry in Eastern Russia

The Gazprom Management Committee addressed the Company's large-scale efforts aimed at implementing the Eastern Gas Program. It was noted that the gas industry growth in Russia's East was strategically important for the socioeconomic development of eastern regions. The Company is active in expanding its resource base in eastern Russia as well as putting in place its gas production, transmission and processing capacities. A long-term balance plan for Gazprom's natural gas from the Irkutsk and Yakutia gas production centers was drawn up to ensure the execution of the contract for pipeline gas supply to China signed in May 2014 with due consideration of gas supply to Russian consumers via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.

Power of Siberia construction launched

Yakutsk hosted today celebrations dedicated to welding the first joint of the Power of Siberia gas transmission system (GTS) meant to be a crucial element of the gas supply system being built in eastern Russia. The GTS will convey gas from the Yakutia and Irkutsk gas production centers to the Far East and China. The attendance was comprised of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zhang Gaoli, First Vice Premier of China's State Council, Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Wang Dongjin, Vice President of China National Petroleum Corporation and Yegor Borisov, Acting Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The Russian Gazprom tankship 'SCF Amur' recently transited the Northern Sea Route in a record 7-days. In January 2012 Gazprom and Sovcomflot reached an agreement on arranging a test shipment via the Northern Sea Route to deliver the Gazprom hydrocarbons to the Asia-Pacific market, taking into account the growing urgency for energy resources supplies to the region. The recemt passage of the SCF Amur became the fourth transit passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean through the Arctic for Sovcomflot.

Submarines – Russia Offers India Air-independent Propulsion Systems

Russia has offered to help India build air-independent (closed cycle) propulsion systems for installation in Amur 1650 class submarines and also to equip future possible joint Indian-Russian built vessels, according to  Viktor Komardin, the deputy head of Rosoboronexport's delegation at the recent Defexpo Indian defense show. The Amur 1650 is one of several contenders, including the Scorpene (France), Type 214 (Germany) and S-80 (Spain) in a tender for the Indian Navy for six subamrines with a total value of $11.8 billion.

Amur Gets ExxonMobil Contract

ExxonMobil has awarded Amur Shipbuilding Plant a $140 million contract to refurbish the Orlan platform. Reuters reports that the Russian plant, Amur, will modernize the platform in order to start extraction at the Sakhalin oil offshore deposit in Russia’s far east. ExxonMobil operates the Sakhalin-1 project, where work on the platform is anticipated to begin in June.

India Plans for Six New Subs

India has begun the hunt for six more submarines to add to the six being built at Mazagon Docks under the mammoth Rs 18,798-crore Scorpene project, according to a report in the Times of India. "We are now actively looking at the second line of submarines after the Scorpenes. The contenders for the six new submarines could include the German HDW and Russian Amur submarines, with the French Scorpenes also being in the reckoning for a repeat order. At present, India has 16 conventional diesel-electric submarines — 10 Russian Kilo-class, four German HDW-class and two very-old Foxtrot-class vessels. GL Receives Russian Flag Authorization

The Russian Maritime Authority has authorized classification society Germanischer Lloyd (GL) to perform statutory duties on ships with Russian flag. Russian Plant Commissions Deep Probe Seismic Ship

A Russian shipbuilding plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has commissioned a deep probe seismic ship built on the order of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The ship intended for oil and gas prospecting at the depth of around 4,000 meters was built within two years as stipulated in the Indian contract, officials of the Amur Shipbuilding Plant indicated. The giant ship -- 94 meters long and 19 meters wide -- has been built in accordance with the international standards, they said. The ship will be sent to the Maritime territory where it will be given a few finishing touches at a terminal constructing base.
