Beijer Electronics has rolled out its new X2 extreme family of rugged HMIs for tough environments. X2 extreme panels are certified by all major classification societies. Designed to perform in rugged environments and in hazardous areas where gases, vapors and dust are present. Extended environmental capabilities include operating temperatures from -30°C to +70°C, high vibrations and high-pressure wash-downs. X2 extreme panels are available in 7, 12 and 15 inches, all in three versions: Standard versions, high-performance versions and fully sealed high-performance versions.

Icebreaker Winch Control Contract for Beijer Electronics
Adria Winch choose QTERM-A7 HMI by Beijer Electronics for use on the open deck of a Russian icebreaker reseach ship. Adria Winch, a leader in designing and manufacturing of hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic deck equipment for vessels, has chosen the QTERM-A7 human machine interface (HMI) with iX software by Beijer Electronics to control five oceanographic winches located on an open deck of a Russian research icebreaker ship. The QTERM-A7 was chosen because of its ability to operate in harsh environments and its compatibility with existing PLC systems.
Beijer Electronics Machine Interface Terminals ABS Classified
Beijer Electronics' 7" QTERM-A7 & 12" QTERM-A12 interface terminals now American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) certified for marine applications. With the recent ABS classification, US-based Beijer Electronic's, QTERM-A7 and QTERM-A12 terminals can now be used in many challenging marine applications including ballast water treatment and propulsion. Known for being built for demanding environments, the QTERM-A7 and QTERM-A12 are also Class I Div 2 certified for hazardous conditions.
Beijer Electronics Launches PC and Monitor for Maritime Ops
Beijer Electronics now extends the monitor and IPC product range for maritime applications with new widescreen models. The new maritime monitor MTe T240 Nautic features a 23.6 inch widescreen format providing an extensive display area for well-structured machine and process visualization. Thanks to the novel LED backlight, the units fully excludes the use of high voltage components e.g. neon tubes and inverters, which often are sources of faulty operation. Further the LED stripes guarantee a more evenly lighting compared with older tube backlight units.

Magnus Ekerot is the new Managing Director for Beijer Electronics Products AB as of Jan. 1. 2009. Conny Persson who held the post before him is retiring, leaving the company after 26 years. Magnus Ekerot joins Beijer Electronics from Axis Communications GmbH in Munich, Germany, where he held the position as Managing Director responsible for Middle and Central/Eastern Europe for the past five years. Before that he graduated from Lund and Edinburg University, got an MBA from Henley Management College, UK and a Ph.
