ICS Readies for its Flagship Conference

The world's principal shipping organization  International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has added further high-level speakers to the line-up of its 2019 Conference: Setting Course for 2050: Powering Global Trade. The flagship conference will take place on September 11th at the British Library, during London International Shipping Week, informed the industry body representing around 80% of the world’s merchant tonnage, through membership by national shipowners' associations.Stuart Neil, Communications Director of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) said: “The shipping industry is facing the most important transformation since the transition from sail to steam. There are no clear solutions, no silver bullets and there will be trade-offs and new ways of working as we move towards 2050.

ICS Launches New Brand

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has used London International Shipping Week to launch a new brand identity, aiming to better serve its role as the global trade association for shipowners, representing national shipowners’ associations from 37 countries and over 80 percent of the world merchant fleet. ICS Conference to Focus on Shipping Agenda

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) will focus clearly on its core agenda this year, with experts from key areas of industry across the board speaking at its 2016 International Shipping Conference, to be held at the British Library on Wednesday 7 September. Principal speakers include Kitak Lim, Secretary-General, IMO; Ian Parry, Principal Environmental Fiscal Policy Expert, International Monetary Fund (IMF); and Esben Poulsson, new Chairman of ICS. Big Hitters Out in Force for ICS Conference

Shipping industry “big hitters” will be out in force for this year’s ICS Shipping Conference, being held by the International Chamber of Shipping at the British Library, London, on Wednesday September 11. Proceedings will be overseen by ICS Chairman, Masamichi Morooka. This year’s ICS event is being held in conjunction with the inaugural London International Shipping Week, which will see the worldwide maritime community gather in the U.K. capital for a multitude of events and meetings from September 9-13.

ICS Challenge: Can Shipping Meet Environmental Obligations?

Can shipping rise to meet its environmental obligations and introduce sustainable ‘green’ measures while coping with shifting markets, volatile fuel prices and fast-moving change. That’s the challenging question facing delegates attending this year’s International Shipping Conference hosted by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) at the British Library, London on September 12 and 13, 2012. The event will be chaired by the recently elected ICS Chairman, Masamichi Morooka (Japan) and will be addressed by IMO Secretary-General, Koji Sekimizu.
