Norwegean compressor supplier TMC Compressors of the Seas (TMC) has been awarded a contract to supply a complete marine compressed air system and associated equipment to four of TMS Cardiff Gas’ LNG carriers currently under construction.The four LNG carriers are being built at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in South Korea.TMC’s scope of supply is to provide 2 x control air compressors, 1 x service air compressor, , and 2 x N2 (nitrogen) feed air compressors for each of the four vessels. Oslo based compressor supplier TMC Compressors said it has won a contract to supply the marine compressed air system for a new floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) currently being built in China for Dutch firm SBM Offshore. TMC was contracted by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd (SWS) to provide a compressed air system consisting of 4 x 400 kW service air compressors with associated air dryers and filters to the shipbuilder’s yard in Shanghai. The contract value is undisclosed. “There seems to be a recovery under way in floating production market. Encouragingly, TMC’s marine compressors are increasingly being selected for major FPSO developments,” said Per Kjellin, managing director of TMC Compressors.

Marine compressor supplier TMC Compressors said it has won a contract from shipbuilder MV WERFTEN to supply a complete compressed air system to two new cruise ships the German shipyard group is building for Genting Hong Kong’s Star Cruises. Under the contract, TMC will manufacture and deliver 4 x 85 KW marine compressors as well as 4 x RD600 air driers to each of the two cruise ships. TMC’s scope of work includes engineering, manufacturing and supply of a complete compressed air system for the FRSU, which is being built by DSME for BW LNG. DSME is currently constructing the two VLCCs for Singapore-based BW Tankers, a subsidiary of the BW Group. Both VLCCs will be 318,000 dwt and are scheduled to be delivered in 2018.
