ABB Unveils New System for Monitoring Vessel Emissions

New Data Gathering System for ECA Compliance

Parker Kittiwake Procal, part of the Parker Hannifin Corporation and the supplier of continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) for marine, power and offshore applications, has launched the new Procal 1200M data gathering system and control unit, specifically designed for maritime use by marine engineers. In addition to collecting and processing data from Parker Kittiwake Procal’s marine emissions analyzers, the Procal 12000M is capable of sending and receiving data from devices which monitor exhaust gas scrubbing systems.

Parker Kittiwake Doubles Emissions Analyzer Production

Parker Kittiwake, part of the Parker Hannifin Corporation and the supplier of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) for marine applications, has doubled its manufacturing capacity in direct response to an increase in industry demand ahead of the imminent 2015 ECA deadline. As a result of the increase in orders over the last year, the company has doubled its revenue. Parker Kittiwake said in-situ CEMS are the most effective method for measuring emissions, and continuous monitoring of sulphur emissions is one of two methods that can be used to verify the scrubbers’ performance…

EU Global Emission Reduction Proposal: Another Viewpoint

Emissions monitoring systems manufacturer, Parker Procal, welcomes EU move to monitor, report & verify emissions. The EU announced recently that it will start measuring shipping emissions from 2013 as a first step towards delivering a global solution for cutting the sector's climate change impact. EU Climate Action Commissioner Connie Hedegaard and Commission Vice-President Siim Kallas made the announcement at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). Kittiwake Acquires Procal

Kittiwake Developments today announced the acquisition of Procal, a manufacturer of in-situ, multi component continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS). The newly-named Kittiwake Procal can supply CEMS for a very wide range of applications, spanning power generation, marine and offshore, cement, incineration, refineries, paper and pulp, steel, nitric acid and fertilizers. Complying with international standards including EN14181 and US EPA 40 cfr Parts 60 & 75 for the measurement of NO, NO2, SO2, CO, CO2, H2O, the in-situ analyzers monitor and measure emissions accurately and reliably. “There are clear synergies between the two businesses,” said Chris Leigh-Jones, Director, Kittiwake Developments.
