Inchcape Acquires Full Ownership of ISS-McKay

ISS Expands Global Business with NORDEN

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world’s leading maritime and logistics service provider, has expanded its global business with Danish tramp shipping company, NORDEN A/S, with a new contract for crew logistics and husbandry services. Under the additional agreement for the dry cargo and tanker specialist, ISS will co-ordinate over 2,800 crew changes per year across 32 vessels worldwide, as well as husbandry and disbursement account processing. The arrangement with ISS will support NORDEN’s operations and accounting teams and provide a single point of contact and remittance, negating the need for multiple, regional agents. ISS will help improve cost scheduling for core services and ensure greater transparency.

ISS Opens Office in Ukraine

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the marine, cargo and supply chain solutions provider, said it is continuing its expansion program in the Black Sea region with the opening of a new office in Ukraine. Situated in Odessa, this new base is part of the company’s drive to expand its presence across the Black Sea region alongside its existing Turkish offices in Istanbul, Izmir, Mersin and Izmit, ISS said. ISS Supports GoM Pipe Laying Project

Inchcape Shipping Services has successfully supported Saipem with a major pipe laying project in the Gulf of Mexico. Providing marine agency and logistics support for Saipem’s newest pipelay vessel Castorone during its first project in the Gulf, ISS assembled a 15 person team that provided port agency and husbandry, crew logistics services, freight forwarding, warehousing and personnel logistics throughout the 9 month project. The Castorone, which is a DP3, ice classed, pipelay vessel, was employed on the 219 kilometer long Walker Ridge oil export pipeline, which connects Chevron's Jack and St Malo fields in 2,140 meters of water, north to a Shell-operated platform in Green Canyon block 10.

ISS Wins Gas Pipeline Logistics Contract

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has secured an offshore logistics services project in Tanzania from China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPPB) and Anglo Eastern Ship Management. Under the contract, ISS will support the construction of a prestigious $3.2 billion deep water gas pipeline linking the Mnazi Bay gas field to Dar es Salaam. The high capacity, 532km gas pipeline represents a major national infrastructure project for Tanzania and is a key driver in the country’s planned economic growth. It will run from Mnazi Bay, Mtwara and Songo Songo in Kilwa District, to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city. The pipeline is set to supply power stations generating 3,900 MW of electricity, as well as connecting commercial and domestic users in several major cities.

ISS Warns of Impact on Crew Logistics Services

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), a  leading maritime services provider, is warning of a likely impact on crew logistics services in all Spanish ports after the main unions for Iberia airlines called a five day national strike in Spain from 18th February to 22nd February. It is anticipated that around 40 percent of scheduled flights and ten percent of international flights will be grounded, with connecting flights to Malaga airport also likely to be affected. Says Julian Isola, Operations Manager, ISS Algeciras and Iberia: “We anticipate that this five day strike will affect crew changes in Spanish ports and are working closely to keep updated. ISS Iberia will continue to monitor developments on behalf of ship owners and operators and will keep customers updated.

ISS Offers Management of Pollution Response in China

Inchcape Shipping Services China launches pollution regulation intermediary service. Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world’s leading maritime services provider, today announced the launch of an intermediary service for ships calling at ports in China. The move is in response to new pollution prevention and control regulations introduced by Chinese regulators and the service is already fully operational. The Prevention and Control of Marine Pollution from Ships directive, issued by China's Maritime Safety Agency (MSA) requires full compliance from shipowners and managers by 1 March 2012.
