Vryhof Expands Its Global Footprint

Vryhof, a provider of anchoring and mooring solutions, said it is expanding its global footprint with its companies Deep Sea Mooring (DSM) opening a new office in Aberdeen and Vryhof Anchors appointing Singapore-based Franklin Offshore as its exclusive representative for selling Vryhof solutions in a number of Asia Pacific countries. ā€œIn an industry that has seen considerable negativity over the past year, this is a real statement of intent by Vryhof on our ambitions to expand our products and services in new markets and meet increased demand,ā€ said Wolfgang Wandl, CEO of Vryhof.

GM Deep Sea Mooring Secures Det Norske Oljeselskap Contract

Global Maritime Deep Sea Mooring, a provider of offshore mooring services in Norway, has signed a contract with Norwegian operator Det norske oljeselskap to support Prosafeā€™s semi-submersible Safe Zephyrus accommodation rig in the Ivar Aasen North Sea field. The contract also includes support to the Maersk Interceptor ultra-harsh environment jack-up rig. Sortland Named CEO of Global Maritime Group

Global Maritime Group has appointed Peder Sortland as its first CEO. Sortland comes from the post of CEO at Apply ASA, and knows part of the group well from holding the position as chair of Global Maritime AS since April 2014. Before joining Apply in 2012, Sortland was chief executive of Ross Offshore and Subsea Technology Group. He has also managed the Norwegian unit of Subsea 7, and held the position as chair in Ocean Installer. He held a number of leading posts in the Statoil group from 1992-2010, covering upstream and downstream oil and gas activities both in Norway and internationally.

Partnership Offers Offshore Weather Monitoring

StormGeo and Deep Sea Mooring have signed an agreement to provide notifications of weather-related movements of floating offshore units and vessels undertaking complex marine operations. The service, which aims to help customers save money and time while enhancing planning and safety standards, will see StormGeo publish and support the notifications while Deep Sea Mooring will be responsible for the hydrodynamic models and all calculations of motion resulting from the expected weather.

Deep Sea Mooring Wins Contract with Repsol

Global energy company Repsol has selected Deep Sea Mooring (DSM) to provide a range of mooring services for their drilling operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. DSM will be responsible for marine engineering and supplying the mooring equipment. The company will also assist in offshore operations, including both pre-lay and rig move. He added that this was the first time the two companies have worked together. The framework agreement is set to commence immediately and last four years including options. Deep Sea Mooring will manage the contract from its headquarters in Bergen.

Deep Sea Mooring Acquired by HitecVision

HitecVision acquires 100% of Deep Sea Mooring, a subsidiary of Odfjell Drilling, a privately owned international drilling contractor. Deep Sea Mooring is a significant provider of rented mooring equipment, pre-lay mooring solutions and ancillary services to E&P companies and drilling rig operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The company was established by Odfjell in 2008 as an in-house mooring service company and has become one of three providers of mooring rental equipment, pre-lay mooring solutions and ancillary services to E&P companies and drilling contractors operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Deep Sea Mooring has an estimated 25 market share of the NCS mooring equipment rentals market, serving it through their locations in Mongstad and Kristiansund, Norway.
