Delta ‘T’ Systems Expands Production

Marine ventilation systems company Delta “T” Systems said it has reconfigured its two 15,000 sq. ft. manufacturing spaces and added tooling and related equipment. The change accommodates the timely construction of the company's new USCG approved A60 Slimline Fire Damper and streamlines the production of the rest of its product lines. According to Delta “T” Systems, the new manufacturing equipment, plus other upgrades throughout the buildings, enhance its efficiency within all of its departments.

Delta "T" Hooks for Offshore Customer

Gaining further ground into the offshore crane market, Delta "T" Systems supplied Cranston Eagle hooks to crane manufacturer Appleton Marine, Inc. These cranes and hooks will be used on medium endurance cutters and national security cutters to move small boats into the water from bigger ships and to load cargo. With these cutters used by the US Coast Guard, Appleton Marine needed hooks that met the USCG's specific requirements. That's why the crane manufacturer's FB20-21 and FB90-28 crane models employ Cranston Eagle hooks.

Delta "T" Plays Role in Historic PT-305 Restoration

After a seven-decade odyssey, PT-305 is back home in New Orleans, Louisiana, preparing to serve her country again. Built by Higgins Industries in 1943 for the U.S. Navy, this 78' patrol torpedo vessel sank three enemy craft in the World War II Mediterranean Theater of Operations. PT-305 is now in the final stages of refurbishment at the National WWII Museum's John E. Kushner Restoration Pavilion. Engine room ventilation expert Delta "T" Systems plays a role in this historical vessel's return to service through its donation of 110V fans and DC blowers for PT-305.

Cranston Eagle Hooks USCG Approved

Cranston Eagle received approval from the United States Coast Guard for the certification of its new DPR-506-CBH marine off-load hook under the approval number 160.133/77/0. This new, fall-mounted hook is rated at 5,000 kg safe working load (5 metric tons) and bolsters Cranston Eagle's line of USCG certified off-load hooks to five. With more than twenty off-load marine hook models in its line, Cranston Eagle is known around the world for producing one of the most robust and reliable marine hooks on the market.

Kvichak Delivers Pilot Boat to Savannah

Kvichak Marine Industries, Inc., of Seattle, Wash., recently delivered PV Georgia, a 64' all-aluminum Pilot Boat to the Savannah Pilots Association of Savannah, Ga. Georgia is the second vessel built by Kvichak for the Savannah Pilots. Designed by Camarc Design, U.K., Georgia is powered by twin MTU 12V2000 engines rated for 1,450 BHP each with Hamilton 521 waterjets and ZF 3050 marine gears. Kvichak said this combination allows for excellent maneuverability with a top speed of approximately 35 knots.

Miller to Spearhead Delta T Complete HVAC

Delta T Systems announced the appointment of HVAC veteran Bob Miller to its staff. In his role as HVAC specialist of the new Delta T Complete vessel ventilation program, Miller's goal is to set a new benchmark of reliability in marine heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and to spearhead the HVAC portion of the new Delta T Complete program, which the company said was formed to offer boatbuilders a one-stop shop for all of their vessels' ventilation requirements, including engine room ventilation, HVAC, galley and head ventilation and unmanned space ventilation.

Accidents, injuries and fatalities are far too common when it comes to the operation of marine davit launching systems. Continuous Duty DC Blower Clears Air

Even small vessels can have big exhaust issues in engine rooms and other enclosed spaces. To prevent dangerous fumes from accumulating, Delta "T" Systems has introduced its compact but powerful new 3-inch DC Blower. The 12-volt blower provides extreme air volumes at very high static pressures. This model is continuous duty, rated for long-term reliability. Ideal for gasoline engine applications, it is fully ignition protected. The air mover features a flange mount exhaust port to simplify installation.  Its marine-grade, ABS plastic housing resists corrosion. The stainless steel shaft and bronze bearings provide smooth, quiet operation.  It measures seven inches wide by six inches high.

New Head Vent System from Delta "T"

Delta "T" Systems’ new Head Vent System uses a single powerful blower to extract air from multiple heads on a vessel. It is compact, quiet, highly effective and fully automatic. The entire Head Vent System including the blower, the control unit, and the dampers are housed within a central, remotely-located plenum box. The plenum box measures only 16" L x 12" W x 13" H. A single Head Vent unit is capable of ventilating up to four heads. The system is fully automatic and requires no input from the user. Each head is fitted with a highly sensitive motion detector.

Pilot Boat Uses Advanced Ventilation

Long Beach, California, is the second largest container vessel port in the United States. With rush periods now demanding bigger boats with more seating, Jacobsen Pilot Service needed a dependable, new craft to deliver up to eight pilots to incoming ships. They turned to Hike Metal, who supplied a 54 ft. welded aluminum pilot boat equipped with Delta "T" Systems ventilation equipment that provides peak engine performance. As demand in the United States continues to grow for Delta T Systems' ventilation solutions, the company has brought on Donovan Marine as its latest North American distributor. "We intend to market Delta T Systems' complete line of products," said Donovan Marine VP of commercial sales Steve Garver. Headquartered in Harrahan, Louisiana, Donovan Marine has 14 warehouse locations spread throughout the United States. With a history that dates back to 1909, the wholesale distributor specializes in both the recreational and commercial marine markets. Taking the show on the road, Delta T Systems' new Demo Trailer relieves the burden of attending trade shows and seminars in order to learn about advances in marine engine room technology.
