Royal IHC announced it has won a contract from Baggerbedrijf de Boer - Dutch Dredging BV for the design and construction of a custom-built trailing suction hopper dredger with a hopper capacity of 2,300 m3.The Dutch shipbuilder noted it has already built four custom-built vessels for Dutch Dredging, and the new trailing suction hopper dredger will be an upgrade of the Lesse, delivered by Royal IHC to Dutch Dredging in 2019. Baggerbedrijf De Boer B.V. (Dutch Dredging B.V.) has ordered two custom, special-purpose tugs to be built at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld in the Netherlands through the subsidiairy De Boer Remorquage SARL. The tugs are for a 10-year contract with Grand Port Maritime de Guyane in the ports of Cayenne and Kourou in French Guyana. Their primary functions will be assisting vessels entering and leaving port, and rendering help in the event of emergencies including fire-fighting. An important secondary role for both vessels will be assisting with maintenance dredging operations in both ports.

VOSTA has been awarded with the contract for the delivery of a complete engineering and component package for a trailing suction hopper dredge for Dutch Dredging BV (Baggerbedrijf De Boer b.v.) in The Netherlands. The complete order consists of the design and engineering of a 2800 m3 trailing suction hopper dredge, including the delivery of the dredging equipment, propulsion systems, electrical installation, automation, hydraulic installation, navigation & communication systems. The vessel will be built under VOSTA LMG supervision at the Ben Kien Shinco Shipyard based in Hai Phong, Vietnam. This shipyard is part of the Vietnamese Shipbuilding group Vinashin. VOSTA LMG and Ben Kien Shipyard have co-operated before for the construction of two cutter suction dredges.
