DeepOcean Extends Charters for Three Subsea Construction Vessels

Ocean services provider DeepOcean has cemented its subsea offering with the extension of its charter agreements with Østensjø Rederi for three vessels.DeepOcean’s most advanced subsea vessel, Edda Freya, will remain part of the fleet through 2026, with additional options available.DeepOcean and Østensjø Rederi have agreed to extend the existing contracts for Edda Freya and Edda Flora through 2026, and Edda Fauna through 2027, with additional options available for all three vessels.Østensjø Rederi has been a partner of DeepOcean since its inception.

Long-term Charters for Østensjø Rederi Offshore Vessel Trio

Norwegian offshore vessel provider Østensjø Rederi has signed long-term contracts for three of its offshore vessels.The new contracts for the Edda Fauna and Edda Flora vessels, signed with subsea services company DeepOcean, will begin in the first quarter of 2021 and will secure firm utilization until the end of 2022, Østensjø Rederi."Both Edda Fauna and Edda Flora will be delivered to DeepOcean with a fully integrated state-of-the-art hybrid battery system installed, for a significant reduction in fuel and emission.

Wärtsilä Hybrid Upgrade for Østensjø Rederi Offshore Construction Vessels

Finnish maritime equipment specialist Wärtsilä has won a contract to provide its Hybrid Upgrade solution for retrofitting two offshore construction vessels owned by Norwegian operator Østensjø Rederi. The two ships, the ‘Edda Fauna’ and ‘Edda Flora’, were built in 2008. Østensjø Rederi opted for the Wärtsilä Hybrid Upgrade solution in order to give the ships a more attractive environmental profile for potential charterers. Walk-to-work-vessels are so designated by the manufacturers on account of being equipped with a gyro-stabilized, telescopic gangway, through which crew and functions are transferred to the well-head-platforms for well stimulation and Intervention work. Wagenborg chose PG for IMR/Cold-Start-Solutions for their new (W2W) IMRV's having secured a long-term-charter from Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij B.V. (Shell).
