MTN grants Lifetime Achievement Award to pioneer of broadband communications at sea, Richard Hadsall. The CEO and president of MTN Satellite Communications (MTN), Errol Olivier resently made the award at the company's Town Hall. Richard Hadsall , chief technology officer of MTN Government Services, pioneered the first C-band and Ku-band satellite broadband communications (TV, voice and data) at sea in the 1980s. Thanks to Hadsall's innovation, today MTN delivers critical satellite and terrestrial communications to most of the world's cruise lines.

MTN Appoints Grayson as CFO

MTN Satellite Communications (MTN) appointed Margaret (Peg) E. Grayson as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As CFO, Ms. Grayson will play an integral role directing MTN’s financial operations, but will also act as a trusted advisor to Errol Olivier, MTN’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), on homeland security-related issues – critical to ensuring customers’ communication requirements, today and in the future. MTN Names Olivier President, CEO

MTN Satellite Communications (MTN) said that Errol Olivier was appointed President and CEO. Olivier most recently served as the company’s President and COO. Olivier has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining MTN, he served as President and CEO of Broadpoint and President and COO of CapRock Communications. He is also recognized for pioneering the first commercial multi-tenant satellite telecommunication strategy for the oil and gas industry in the Gulf which revolutionized the way Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) services were delivered to the offshore energy market. CapRock Wins Maritime Contract

CapRock has added Subsea 7, a major operator of energy support vessels, to its customer list. The long-term multi-million dollar agreement with Subsea 7 provides for worldwide data and voice communications services on CapRock’s global network. The latest win is a milestone in CapRock’s multi-year plan to expand its presence beyond the Gulf of Mexico, following its customers around the world with turnkey communications. Under the terms of the agreement, CapRock will provide global interconnectivity via satellite for the Subsea 7 fleet of ships, which offer construction, diving, ROV/survey and pipelay services to customers who operate in harsh and remote marine environments all over the world.

CapRock Names Olivier as COO

CapRock Communications has appointed Bryan Olivier as the company's chief operating officer. Olivier, a telecommunications industry veteran, moves into this role from his former position as the company's chief technology officer. In the COO role, Olivier's responsibilities will include consolidating operations, information technology, project management, engineering and supply chain management into a single global platform. This approach will permit the company to continue serving customers by enhancing its comprehensive communications solutions, which include seamless service, support and technology integration around the world. Responsibilities of the chief operating officer were previously held by Errol Olivier, who is retiring after nearly seventeen years of service with the company.

Oceaneering to Utilize CapRock IP Xpress

CapRock Services Corp. has contracted with Oceaneering International Inc. for the supply and service of CapRock’s IP Xpress Network aboard OII’s ROV support vessel, the Ocean Service. OII is an advanced technology company that provides engineered products and services to customers who operate in marine, space and other harsh environments. The company sought to improve its vessel communications systems and chose CapRock for improved flexibility and reliability, expanded capabilities and value. The IP Xpress Network, which has the industry-standard Cisco AVVID architecture as its backbone, provides the Ocean Service with four, high-quality voice over IP (VoIP) lines, allowing OII customers to use dedicated lines while aboard the vessel.
