Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), a Brazilian subsidiary of Singapore's Sembcorp Marine, has completed the construction of the P-71 FPSO, integrating topsides on the China-built hull.The new FPSO vessel left the EJA shipyard on Tuesday. It will be deployed at Petrobras' ultra-deepwater Itapu field in Brazil’s Santos Basin. When operational, the P-71 will produce up to 150,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).The P-71 measures 316m by 54m and can store 1.6 million barrels. ABB won orders worth $160m from Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd. for the design, supply, supervision of installation, testing and commissioning of the main electrical systems for seven next generation drill ships that will operate in the deep water oil and gas fields off the coast of Brazil. The orders were booked in the fourth quarter of last year and first quarter of this year. The ships will be used to drill wells in the enormous offshore pre-salt fields off the southeast coast of Brazil.

Wärtsilä, the marine industry's leading solutions and services provider, has been awarded the contract from Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine to supply main generating engines and thrusters for six new deep water drill ships to be built in Brazil at Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz. The contract was signed at the end of September. The Jurong Aracruz shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore based Sembcorp Marine, will build the vessels for Sete Brasil, an investment company that manages asset portfolios in the oil and gas sector. The drill ships to be used in the pre-salt deep-water drilling program of the Brazilian energy giant, Petrobras, will be operated by drilling contractors Seadrill and Odfjell.

Sembcorp Marine’s subsidiary Jurong do Brasil Prestacao de Services Ltda (JDB) awarded FPSO module contract by Tupi B.V. The contract is for the construction of a total of 8 modules and module integration works for 2 Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSO) P-68 and P-71 from Tupi B.V., a consortium owned by majority shareholder Petrobras Netherlands B.V., together with BG Overseas Holdings Ltd and Galp Energia E&P B.V. As part of the agreement, Tupi B.V. has a similar contract option to construct 4 modules and modules integration for a FPSO to be exercised within 18 months of the contract signing. Under the contract, the FPSOs P-68 and P-71 will have identical work scopes, comprising the fabrication of 4 modules for each FPSO and module integration works.

Sembcorp Marine secures US$ 4.032 Billion drillship contracts from Sete Brasil. Sembcorp Marine Ltd, through Jurong Offshore Pte Ltd’s wholly-owned subsidiarieshas secured contracts from Sete Brasil Participacǒes S.A. (Sete Brasil), for the design and construction of five drillships based on Jurong Shipyard’s proprietary Jurong Espadon drillship design. In addition to the above, Sembcorp Marine had earlier in the year announced that its wholly-owned Brazilian shipyard Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz Ltda secured a US$792.5 million contract for the design and construction of a drillship with Guarapari Drilling B.V., Netherlands, a subsidiary of Sete Brasil.
