MacGregor to Supply RoRo Equipment for Sallaum Lines' LNG PCTC Vessel Duo

Marine equipment firm MacGregor, part of Cargotec, said Thursday it had won a large order for RoRo equipment packages for two dual-fuel LNG Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels. The PCTC vessels will be built at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd. for Sallaum Lines. Sallaum Lines specializes in global RoRo cargo shipping, and these two newly ordered vessels will be the company’s first newbuildings.The vessels are scheduled to be delivered to the shipowner between the fourth quarter of 2024 and the second quarter of 2026.MacGregor’s will be responsible for the design…

Wärtsilä to Provide Solutions to Six Feeder Vessel Newbuilds

The technology group Wärtsilä will supply an extensive range of products and solutions for six new 1160TEU container feeder vessels to be built at the Fujian Mawei shipyard in China. The project has been developed by MarLink Project Management GmbH in Germany together with various investors. This series of state-of-the-art container ships has been designed by German design office abh Ingenieur-Technik GmbH. There are options for a further six vessels. The order for the exhaust scrubbers and BWMS was booked in May 2017, while the order for the remainder of the supply was booked in December 2016. Bedeschi Bags Cargo Handling Equipment Order

An order for cargo handling equipment to be used on Nautilus Minerals’ production support vessel has been awarded to Italy’s Bedeschi SPA, marking the second major equipment contract to be awarded by the shipyard, Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Limited. The cargo handling system will be used on the production support vessel to load the dewatered material into four storage holds and is designed to recover the material from the storage holds and transfer it directly to a handymax vessel for shipment of the material to China. Last year Nautilus announced it had entered into an agreement with Marine Assets Corporation (MAC), for the charter of a vessel to be first deployed for use at the Solwara 1 Project and that MAC had entered into a contract with Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd.…

Ship Engines, Thruster Packages Awarded

Nautilus Minerals Inc. announced that the order for the engines and thruster packages for the company’s production support vessel has been awarded to Rolls Royce Marine of Norway. The order, which secures the main engines, azimuth and tunnel thrusters, is the first major package to be awarded by the shipyard, Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Limited. Nautilus announced last year it had entered into an agreement with Marine Assets Corporation (MAC), for the charter of a vessel to be first deployed for use at the Solwara 1 Project (Project) and that MAC had entered into a contract with Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd., to design and construct the vessel in accordance with Nautilus' specifications.

Two MacGregor Subsea Cranes Ordered for Chinese PSVs

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a new contract from Chinese shipbuilder, Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd., for two 100-metric-ton active heave-compensated subsea MacGregor cranes. The cranes will be fitted to two 86-meter multipurpose platform supply vessels (PSVs) under construction at the yard. Delivery of the cranes is scheduled for the end of September and October 2015. "A key quality of PSVs is that they are able to perform a wide variety of tasks effectively in demanding offshore environments.

MacGregor Delivers Load Handling for New Accommodation Vessels

Two sizes of MacGregor's offshore cranes have each been specified for Marine Assets Corporation's new series of four accommodation support vessels being built at Fujian Mawei shipyard in China. MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract that will see eight cranes fitted onboard a new series of four compact semi-submersible (CSS) offshore accommodation vessels for Marine Assets Corporation (MAC). Each vessel, under construction at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd. in China, will feature a 60-ton and a 12-ton offshore MacGregor crane. Crane deliveries are scheduled to begin in August 2014 and finish by the end of February 2015.

Wärtsilä to Design & Power New OSV's

Wärtsilä awarded a major contract to design a series of four multi-purpose platform support vessels (MPSVs) for Malaysian owner. The contract has been placed by Bumi Armada Berhad, a Malaysian-based international offshore oilfield services provider and also the largest owner and operator of offshore support vessels in Malaysia. STX Marine is pleased to report the launching of Hallin Marine’s Compact Semi-Submersible, CSS Derwent. The event took place at Drydocks World Nanindah’s yard in Batam, Indonesia. The CSS Derwent was launched on 5 June 2012 and has an expected delivery at the end of 2012. The CSS concept has been developed by STX Marine, in partnership with Hallin Marine; Minnow Marine Projects Limited and M3 Marine, over a five year period to capture the capabilities and low-motion behavior of a semi-submersible vessel in the smallest form feasible, giving an industry-leading design in terms of operability.

Tidewater Builds Diesel Electric

Tidewater began with the 1955 launch of the Ebb Tide, the first purpose-built boats to serve the Gulf of Mexico offshore oil industry. First Sulzer RT-flex50 Engines Ordered

Wärtsilä Corporation has been awarded a contract to supply the first Sulzer RT-flex50 low-speed marine diesel engines. The RT-flex50 is the latest in the Sulzer RT-flex engine series which, with their electronically-controlled common-rail systems, are the most advanced low-speed engines for ship propulsion. Four six-cylinder Sulzer RT-flex50 engines have been ordered from Wärtsilä by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd in the People's Republic of China and will be installed in four 53,800 tdw Handymax bulk carriers contracted by the Greek shipowner Enterprises Shipping & Trading.
