Team Britannia, GAC Inks Partnership Deal

As Team Britannia prepares for its bid to break the round-the-world powerboat record later this year, GAC has been named their official shipping and logistics partner. GAC will draw on the local contacts and expertise of its network of global offices and partners to provide the 80ft powerboat and its 12 strong crew with all the food, fuel and stores needed to complete the 23,000 mile voyage. The first-hand experience of the Group’s yachting and marine leisure experts at GAC Pindar Superyacht Services will also come into play for meeting the specific needs of the boat during its voyage. Williams wins World Match Racing Title

Johor, Malaysia – GAC Pindar skipper Ian Williams has today entered the record books as the first to win sailing’s World Match Racing Tour title six times. Williams previously won the title in 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, and 2015. He beats his own record set last year when he won the title for the fifth time. Today’s victory will go down as Williams’s best yet, after being drawn into a thrilling three-way battle with Björn Hansen (Nautiska) and Taylor Canfield (US One). Williams went into the final event of the tour, the Monsoon Cup, knowing that the tour title would be his if he finished ahead of either of his two challengers, due to the 2 point lead accumulated over the season.

GAC Support for Tall Ship Tenacious

The tall ship Tenacious has left her home port in the UK for an epic voyage to Australia. Over the next eight months, she will sail more than 17,000 NM and call at 26 ports en route to her final destination, Sydney. And at every stop along the way, she will be supported by the GAC global network. The three-masted square rigged 586 GT tall ship is one of two specially designed sailing vessels owned and operated by the Jubilee Sailing Trust, which was set up in 1978 to give people of all physical abilities the chance to experience sailing first hand. The Trust’s mission is to empower both able-bodied and disabled individuals to focus on what they can do rather than what they can’t, and to correct misconceptions about disability.

GAC Pindar to Add Quality to Volvo Ocean Race

With just one month to go to the start of the first leg of the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15, GAC Pindar is in the thick of ensuring the provision of a seamless logistics support package for the 12th edition of the race that has been nicknamed the 'Everest of Sailing'. As the official logistics provider for the Volvo Ocean Race, the mammoth task that faces GAC Pindar includes logistics and customs clearance of entire race villages and gear for the crews, in addition to emergency supply of spare parts during the race. Due to the sheer size of the race - 38,739 nautical miles across five continents and eleven ports including a pit-stop in The Hague in just nine months - two identical race villages are required and will leapfrog each other across the globe.

3-yr Extension for GAC Pindar with Extreme Sailing Series

GAC Pindar has secured a three-year extension of its contract with the global Extreme Sailing Series™ to manage the complex worldwide shipping of the Series’ Extreme 40 boats, equipment and support materials. GAC Pindar Named Official Logistics Provider for Foiling Week

GAC Pindar has been appointed official logistics provider for the inaugural Foiling Week event, to take place on Lake Garda, Italy from July 4 – 10. Foiling Week is a new event dedicated to foiling (‘flying’) boats, their designers, builders and athletes. Three events will run during the course of the week, The Moth National Open Championship, the TFW Core Event with forums, races and on water tests, and the final Full Foiling Catamaran Race. Oman Children Get Taste for the Sea Aboard GAC Pindar

Ship service company, GAC, inform that 5 boys and girls from Oman Childcare Centre joined the GAC Pindar crew on board their 40ft racing catamaran on Day 2 of the Extreme Sailing Series. The children's visit to the boat was part of GAC’s continuing support for the local communities that host it around the world and its commitment to nurturing a love of healthy outdoor activities for young people. The gesture was not lost on the youngsters: after the experience, one of them now hopes to make a career at sea as a sailor.

GAC Pindar Deliver Large US-built Motorboat to NZ

GAC Pindar in J/V with global freight forwarder TNL International, deliver a 7.6 mt Stamas boat from Georgia USA to Aukland, New Zealand. The privately owned motorboat, which is 3.93 metres high and 12.58 metres long overall, was handled with care for its 15,000km voyage. Before being loaded onto a ship bound for Auckland at Savannah, Georgia, it was shrink-wrapped and cradled on a special mafi trailer. Yacht Racing World Match Title for Team GAC Pindar

GAC Pindar skipper Ian Williams has clinched his fourth International Sailing Federation (ISAF) World Match Racing title. Racing Tour. The team arrived in Malaysia only two and a half points behind the Tour leader Bjorn Hansen with all to play for. and come back with a vengeance. Williams made history in 2007 as the first British sailor to win the ISAF world title and won another two times in 2008 and 2011. His record four titles now equal that of the match racing legend, Australian skipper Peter Gilmour who announced his retirement only days ago.

GAC Pindar forms a new venture with global freight forwarder TNL International to offer specialist marine leisure logistics services. The new partnership, named TNL GAC Pindar, is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. It serves Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, providing a complete package of solutions including yacht transportation, superyacht services, air, sea and road freight, agency services and specialist superyacht bunkering. Experienced freight forwarder Richard Thorpe has been appointed as Manager of TNL GAC Pindar, Australasia.

GAC Pindar skipper Ian Williams & team arrive for the Argo Group Gold Cup after winning in Match Race France. After a spectacular conclusion to the Match Race France last weekend, which saw the GAC Pindar skipper battle the elements against young Kiwi William Tiller (Full Metal Jacket Racing), Williams and his winning crew were in high spirits as they landed on the island of Bermuda. The Argo Group Gold Cup is the world’s oldest Match Racing event involving International one-design yachts.

Historic Yacht Club Awards Contract to GAC Pindar

GAC Pindar is appointed official shipping and logistics services provider to the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. The contract is to run from July 2012 through to December 2015. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club will host a number of international sailing regattas over the next couple of years, including the World Sailing Championships for the Flying Fifteens and Etchells classes in 2013 and 2015.
