Technology and training organization 3T Energy Group has acquired Aberdeen-based Survivex, an offshore oil and gas training specialist.Global technology and training organisation said in a press release that it has become the UK’s largest energy sector training provider after acquiring Survivex."This acquisition strengthens 3T Energy Group’s global offering and is part of its strategy to transform the training sector with technology to enable people and companies to work safer, smarter and more efficiently," it said.3T Energy Group was formed earlier in 2018 by bringing together expertise from AIS Training and advanced simulator developer, Drilling Systems.

The Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Natonal Center of Expertise, industry experts provide technical training for future LNG fueled vessel inspectors.The Coast Guard’s Liquefied Gas Carrier National Center of Expertise (LGC NCOE) partnered with Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville to coordinate a four-day “LNG as Fuel Workshop” Sept. 17-20, 2018, for future inspectors of LNG fueled vessels, with support from industry experts and the Coast Guard’s Marine Safety Center.Together, this team of LNG as fuel specialists provided Coast Guard marine inspectors from across the U.S.

GTT subsidiaries, GTT North America, Inc. and GTT Training Ltd, announce the award of the first contract of its kind for the development and implementation of a comprehensive LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) training program for the 2,200 m3 LNG Bunker Barge currently under construction at Conrad Industries Shipyard in Orange, TX, following the order received by GTT North America from Conrad Industries in February 2015. For anyone keeping score, the south Florida maritime training and education infrastructure is enjoying rapid growth, driven largely by an outreach for lucrative offshore oil and gas training and education business. Case in point, today Maritime Professional Training (MPT)—the largest private maritime training school in the nation— said it selected Fort Lauderdale-based Gulf Building Corp. as the general contractor for the construction of its planned 25,000-square-foot facility expansion at its Fort Lauderdale campus.

Maersk Training announced the launch of two new offshore emergency courses: the OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Member Training and the OPITO 6 Day Combined Helideck and Team Member Training. These two OPITO Accredited courses will kick start this month at the company’s training center in the northeast of Scotland and be delivered using a newly built Helicopter simulator and helideck. Atlas launches IMIST in three new languages to improve safety standards in growing South East Asia energy market. Atlas has announced three new translations of its IMIST program, now available in nine languages. International Minimum Industry Safety Training (IMIST) is now available in Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian, which will support the roll out of the global standard in safety across the world. IMIST has been developed by oil and gas training standards body OPITO, delivered in partnership with Atlas via e-learning.
