ICS Updates Flag State Performance Table

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has published the latest update of its Flag State Performance Table, which can be downloaded free of charge via the ICS website.The annual update, which is also supported by the Asian Shipowners’ Association (ASA) and the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), provides an indication of the performance of individual flag administrations, using information available in the public domain. Since the Table was launched 15 years ago, ICS says it has been pleased by the ongoing improvement which the data has helped to demonstrate.

ICS Published Flag State Performance Table

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has published its latest Flag State Performance Table providing an annual overview of the performance of the world’s flag states against a number of criteria such as port state control records, ratification of international maritime Conventions and attendance at IMO meetings. The table, which is available for free from the ICS website, is mainly intended to encourage ship owners and operators to maintain an open dialogue with their flag administrations with respect to any improvements that might be necessary, ICS said.

ICS Publishes Flag State Performance Table

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has published its Shipping Industry Flag State Performance Table for 2015/2016, which can be downloaded free of charge via the ICS website. The ICS Table provides an annual overview of the performance of the world’s ship registers against a number of criteria, using data available in the public domain. ICS is keen to draw attention to the impressive number of positive indicators that are now being achieved by those flag states which are used by the vast majority of ship operators.

Flag State Performance Table: 'Clean Sheet' for UK

According to the Chamber of Shipping's (ICS) latest Flag State Performance Table, the UK has no negative indicators against any of the 18 criteria ICS uses to assess performance. The Maritime and Coast Guard Agency (MCA) says that 1,388 ships, with a gross tonnage of 16.11m, were on the UK Ship Register at the end of September and, according to Clarksons World Fleet Monitor, the UK's is the world's11th largest register. ICS Publishes Performance Table Following Onset of MLC

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) launched its latest Shipping Industry Flag State Performance Table (which can be downloaded from the ICS website – www.ics-shipping.org). Following the entry into force of the ILO Maritime Labor Convention (MLC) in August 2013, the latest ICS table now requires flag states to have ratified the ILO MLC in order to receive a positive indicator. “The level of ratification of this important new ILO Convention as of the end of December is impressive,” said Mr. Bennett.

ICS Updates Flag State Performance Table

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has launched its latest ‘Shipping Industry Flag State Performance Table’ which can be downloaded from the homepage of the ICS website. This year’s ICS table includes some new flag states which seem to be increasingly popular with some shipowners, such as Moldova and Sierra Leone, which join the ranks of flags such as Bolivia, Cambodia and Mongolia in being revealed by the table to have a somewhat patchy performance. ICS stresses that the table includes what should be regarded only as potential positive indicators.
