AER Supply to Showcase Sewage Treatment Technology

AER Supply, an international distributor of marine products, is featuring a cost-effective MEPC-compliant onboard sewage treatment system for the U.S. commercial marine market at the 2013 WorkBoat Show. AER was named earlier this year as the distributor for Severn Trent De Nora marine wastewater disinfection systems for the Gulf Coast and other regions of the United States. MS&D 2009 Hamburg

The latest surveillance, defence and security equipment is presented by the 60 exhibitors at MS&D 2009, the international conference and exhibition on Maritime Security & Defence (MS&D), to be held at the Hamburg Fair site from 30 September to 2 October 2009. The exhibits include sophisticated optical and acoustic sensors, which have substantially improved the automated monitoring and control technology of security and defence equipment and systems. Thus the exhibiting companies, most of them from the exclusive circle of defence system manufacturers, are contributing to the protection of international shipping. A trend at MS&D 2009 is unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) which fly in fully automated mode and can be used for surveillance. The exhibits by Diehl BGT Defence GmbH & Co.

Jabsco Electric Alternative to Manual Toilet

Jabsco introduced the new Lite Flush electric toilet. Lite Flush is a new low power-consuming marine electric toilet, designed specifically to replace the existing Jabsco Manual Toilet. The marine head features the same footprint, fixing points, and hose attachments as the Manual Toilet making installation quick and easy. The Lite Flush electric toilet is compact and light weight (no heavier than the manual toilet at 21 lbs.), features a plastic outer casing, ceramic bowl, and a “slow close” seat and lid.

Response Marine Delivers Fire/Rescue Boat

The latest Response FR-175 fire/rescue boat was delivered to Benwood, West Virginia Fire Department for use on the Ohio River. The FR-175 was developed over the last few years to provide maximum fire/rescue capabilities in a small, easily managed boat. Firefighting capabilities are based around the Hale 550 gpm pump, with independent 2.5-in. handline and monitor discharges. Dive rescue capabilities include a 36-in. side dive door, full length rescue rails, and space for two litters in addition to the normal crew of three. The boat measures 17.5 ft. long, with a 7.5 ft. beam and a one ft. draft. It features an Akron Brass fire monitor; ITT Jabsco deck lights; Whelen strobes and siren; and a Motorola fire radio.

Meridian Debuts Updated Line in NY

Setting the scene for the premiere of the new 2003 line of Meridian Yachts, a clear, blue sky served as the backdrop at New York City's Chelsea Piers, as these new innovative, and technologically sound vessels were introduced, by Meridian's president and master of ceremonies, William J. Barrington. The vessels, which join the ranks of their elite sister companies (all governed by the Brunswick Boat Group), of Sea Ray, Hatteras, Maxum and Sealine, range in size from 34 to 58 ft. (10.3 to 17.6 m) and include the latest technological and design innovations - specifically Meridian's own unique Docking on Command (DOC) system, which allows the most novice of boaters to guide their vessel into the tightest of spaces.

SeaArk Delivers Commander to Passaic Valley

SeaArk Marine, Monticello, Ark., delivered its 27 ft. all-welded aluminum Commander model to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners of Newark, N.J. Named R.V. Passaic River, the vessel will be utilized for water quality sampling and general environmental clean-up work in the Passaic River and in Newark Bay - in addition to utilization for educational purposes. The vessel boasts a deep-vee hull, which provides proven performance and a smooth, dry ride, as well as SeaArk's standard 25 ft. hull stretched to 27 ft., allowing additional room for equipment on the recessed rear deck. A fully enclosed and insulated cabin was also extended to house two bench seats/storage boxes and a worktable, as well as two pilot seats.
