KOTC Renews Marine Lubes Deal with Lukoil

Dubai-based subsidiary of Lukoil, Lukoil Marine Lubricants has reached a renewal agreement with Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC), a unit of of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), for the supply of marine lubricants.For the past three years, Lukoil has supplied KOTC’s full fleet of tanker vessels with its specialized product of marine lubricants. LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Opens Hong Kong Office

LUKOIL Marine Lubricants has opened a new branch office in Hong Kong to tap into an increasing market share in Hong Kong and the greater China area. The official opening ceremony was held on Friday, May 27, 2016, and was attended by more than 50 guests from Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as LUKOIL Marine’s Managing Directors, June Manoharan and Jan Thiedeitz. The celebration also provided an opportunity to showcase the latest iCOlube and EAL technology during technical seminars. Hong Kong has long been held as one of the most important and strategically located maritime hubs in the world.

LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Launches Barge in Singapore

Experiencing continued success and growing demand for the supply of marine lubricants, LUKOIL Marine has launched an additional supply barge named LUKOIL Marine. With a length of 45m and a capacity of 800 dwt divided into several compartments, the barge LUKOIL Marine will supply a variety of products including Navigo TPEO 30/40, Navigo TPEO 40/40, Navigo 40 MCL, Navigo 100 MCL, Navigo 70 MCL and Navigo 6 SO. The barge is the company’s third in a fleet delivering lubricants in Singapore, including the 100 dwt capacity Transwift and 350 dwt capacity Marine Success.

UASC, Lukoil Enter Lubes Supply Deal

Container shipping line United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and the Dubai-based marine lubricant specialist Lukoil have signed a lubricant supply agreement covering vessels from UASC’s advanced newbuilding program. UASC is currently implementing a newbuilding program that includes 17 new vessels on order; six x 18,800 TEU and 11 x 15,000 TEU containerships. LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Launches iCOlube in the UK

To optimize vessel’s engine performance and efficiency, LUKOIL Marine Lubricants has developed the iCOlube system, which had its U.K. official launch on September 8, 2015 in London. According to LUKOIL, the iCOlube cylinder oil lubrication unit tailors the alkalinity reserve to engine load and fuel. The feed rate always stays at optimum level, while only the fuel sulphur content needs to be entered. This way, it maintains better engine conditions, reduces oil costs, saves fuel and is environmentally friendly, the manufacturer said.

LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Opens Gothenburg Warehouse

LUKOIL Marine Lubricants informs it has opened a new warehouse in Gothenburg.   The marine lubricants supplier said it constantly strives to expand its global supply network, adding that the new site will enable reduced lead time and increased flexibility when delivering lubricants to vessels calling at Scandinavian ports.   LUKOIL Marine serves the Scandinavian market from its order department in Hamburg. The company said it has further improved availability of its full product range in the region via cooperation with new logistics partner for Scandinavia, TJOSAB AB.

After running on minimum feed rate for years, Hansa Shipping’s containership HS Debussy is expected to exceed 50,000 running hours without piston overhaul at present operation conditions. With the launch of MSC Oscar, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) sets a new record in terms of TEU capacity; at 19,224 TEU, the vessel is largest containership ever built.The ship was officially inaugurated at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) Shipyard in South Korea on January 8, 2015 and will service trade routes between Asia and Europe. LUKOIL Marine Debuts EAL Generation

Due to new U.S. regulations, almost all ships exceeding 24 meters in length which are operating in U.S. coastal waters are confronted with much stricter environmental protection requirements. The Vessel General Permit (VGP), in effect since December 19, 2013, stipulates that rapidly biodegradable oils called Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EAL) must be used in interfaces where oil can contaminate seawater. LUKOIL Makes First Bulk Delivery in Novorossiysk

Since January 2014, the marine lubricant specialist LUKOIL Marine Lubricants Ltd. offers bulk supply of lubricant main grades in Novorossiysk, Russia’s main port on the Black Sea. On January 15, 2014 the first large order of Navigo 70 MCL was successfully delivered by barge. Novorossiysk is one of Russia’s most important export seaports and regularly frequented by a large number of cargo ships. Until recently, lubricant supplies were not available in bulk in this port. Vessels were able to bunker in Novorossiysk, but had to call at another port or Istanbul Roads for lubricant supply. This almost invariably resulted in longer routes and waiting times for the ships, going hand in hand with elevated costs for the ship owners.

As for operative and technical expertise, since entering into the global lubricating oil business Lukoil has relied on its Hamburg site. “Here we are in close proximity to our customers, because Germany, and Hamburg in particular, remains one of the world’s most important shipping hubs. The combination of Russian raw materials, worldwide leading additive technology and German engineering has become a success factor for us.” To round off the connection to Hamburg, shipping line Hapag-Lloyd’s Hamburg Express also uses Lukoil products for lubrication.

Specializing in lubricants for the maritime industry, Lukoil Marine Lubricants Ltd. increased its sales revenue in the past financial year 2012 by 74% to around $200 million. This result was announced by Lukoil Marine Lubricants’ CEO Victor Zhuravskiy in Hamburg. Founded in 2008, Lukoil Marine Lubricants is a subsidiary of the Russian oil company Lukoil.
