Elcome, Miros Ink Distribution Deal

mltech Bags Caspian Contract

mltech, specialist in pipework set-up and measurement software development, has increased its global presence after securing its first contract in Baku, Azerbaijan. The one year contract, which has scope for extension, was awarded by Metal Qaynaq Sinaq (MQS) which operates throughout Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan. The company provides services including process piping fabrication, heavy and light structural steel fabrication, mechanical site services and civil construction to some of the oil and gas industry’s biggest operators and tier one contractors. The project will see mltech train MQS personnel to use its proprietary automet™ software, licensed to MQS, to perform pipe spool fabrication surveys and on-site pipework and steelwork surveys.

New Container Weighing System Sees Port Use

Since its recent launch, Strainstall’s Container weighing system has already become established in the Intermodel/Ports industry. It is currently being used at numerous key U.K. Ports in the U.K. including Port of Felixstowe and Tilbury – as well as being considered for integration throughout ports and terminals within Europe, Chile, U.S. and Canada. The system was developed in response to recent talks within the IMO calling for mandatory verification of container weights and utilizes Strainstall’s 45 years of designing standard and bespoke load measurement solutions. It has been specifically developed to enable port authorities, shipping companies and couriers to establish the exact weight of containers, as well as the ability to detect eccentric loads.

FMC Gets Shell Ultra-deep Subsea Equipment Order

FMC Technologies, Inc. to support Shell's ultra-deepwater project in the Walker Ridge area of the Gulf of Mexico. Stones is located approximately 200 miles (322 kilometers) off the Louisiana coast in approximately 9,600 feet (2,926 meters) of water. FMC Technologies' scope of supply includes eight subsea trees, a subsea manifold, topside and subsea controls and associated equipment. Teledyne Completes Acquisition of RESON

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated announced today that it has completed the acquisition of RESON. RESON, headquartered in Slangerup, Denmark, provides high-resolution marine acoustic imaging and measurement solutions. The acquired company will operate under the name Teledyne RESON. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. With more than 30 years of experience and approximately 1,400 RESON echosounders sold worldwide, RESON is a provider of multibeam sonar systems and specialty acoustic sensors for hydrography, global marine infrastructure and offshore energy operations.

FMC Win BP Subsea Equipment Contract

FMC Technologies to manufacture and supply subsea equipment for BP's Thunder Horse Field in the Gulf of Mexico. The Thunder Horse oil field is located in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico, 150 miles (240 kilometers) southeast of New Orleans in approximately 6,300 feet (1,920 meters) of water. FMC Technologies' scope of supply includes two manifolds and associated controls equipment . In addition, the scope includes several pipeline end terminations , flowline and well jumper kits and umbilical termination assemblies. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2013. "FMC Technologies is pleased to continue supporting BP as they further develop Thunder Horse," said Tore Halvorsen, FMC Technologies' Senior Vice President, Subsea Technologies.

FMC Technologies Receives $125 Million Order From Petrobras

FMC Technologies (NYSE: FTI) announced today that it has received a $125 million order from Petrobras (NYSE: PBR, PBRA), Brazil's national oil company, to supply equipment for use in their oil and gas developments offshore Brazil. The order, for 32 subsea trees, represents the remaining equipment under a 107-tree frame agreement that was announced in February of 2010. Equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2013. GE Acquires Panametrics

GE Power Systems announced that it has acquired Panametrics Inc., a global leader in high-technology ultrasonic testing equipment and process control instrumentation. The company will become part of GE's Energy Management Services business and will be known as GE Panametrics. Panametrics develops highly specialized, harsh-environment sensors and instruments for nondestructive testing, solar radiation detection and process measurement instrumentation. The company's products include process control instruments; moisture, chemical and gas sensors; multi-phase flow meters; charged particle detectors; ultrasonic transducers and scanning systems for a wide range of applications.
