NAPA’s Passenger Ship Stability Management Tool Gains DNV Type Approval

NAPA Loading Computer Awarded DNV GL Type Approval

Maritime software, services, and data analysis provider NAPA said it has been awarded type approval by DNV GL for its latest loading computer, the NAPA Loading Computer Type 4 and Loading Computer System Damage Control, LCS(DC). Wasaline Green Newbuild RoPax Moves Forward

NAPA Brings Digital Logbooks Within Reach of More Ships

NAPA, the maritime software, services and data analysis provider announced that its industry-benchmark electronic logbook, NAPA Logbook, is now available as a monthly service solution.According to media release, this reduced barrier to entry will bring the connectivity and job automation benefits of digital logbooks to more of the maritime market. ABB, NAPA Sign Vessel Advisory Agreement

Power and automation technology group ABB and software solutions supplier NAPA have signed a cooperation agreement for ship design and operation. The companies will cooperate to offer the NAPA Loading Computer and the electronic NAPA Logbook under ABB’s Vessel Information and Control (VICO) portfolio as part of a complete advisory solution devised to optimize ship efficiency. The NAPA Loading Computer undertakes a wide range of calculations related to hydrostatics, intact stability and ship longitudinal strength.

BMT Defense Applies NAPA Software in New Vessel Design

Naval design and engineering company BMT Defense Services Ltd. included a software package created by maritime software house NAPA during the design process for the new logistics and support vessel (LSV) ordered by the Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization (NDLO). Naval architects have applied NAPA for Design to the vessel's stability and hydrodynamics modeling to produce a compartmentation model that can provide hull form throughout the design process to production. The model will support the lifetime eco-efficiency of the vessel, either in combination with NAPA for Operations systems and the NAPA Loading Computer, or as a standalone system that provides vital information on the vessel when it cannot be observed.

Ship Performance Monitoring: SDARI & NAPA to Collaborate

Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), the leading ship design company in China and NAPA, the global leader in maritime software solutions and services for ship design and operations, have agreed to expand their co-operation to cover ship performance monitoring. The enhanced agreement will extend an existing co-operation that includes the application of NAPA software to SDARI’s ship design processes and NAPA’s Loading Computer, which enhances safe operation and maximisation of a vessel’s cargo carriage capacity. Ship performance monitoring has been added to partnership’s scope in response to a shift in focus in the maritime industry from capital expenditure costs to operating costs, amid sustained high bunker prices.

NAPA Wins Bourbon OSV Loading Computer Contract

Software house NAPA Group contracted to supply Bourbon with loading computers for 55 offshore support vessels (OSV's). The latest software will enable Bourbon to improve safe loading and unloading with maximum cargo intake while improving assistance to stability, longitudinal strength for operational efficiency. NAPA has begun and will continue to provide Bourbon OSVs with the most versatile and sophisticated 3D systems on the market; providing “real time” onboard loading calculations and ship stability analysis, as well as an emergency response system during loading.

Hansen USA has provided CFD analysis covering a large range of trim/draft/speed conditions for numerous ship owners to be used in the Onboard Napa Loading Computer-Optifloat Module. Optifloat is a tool developed by Onboard NAPA Ltd, which provides the vessel crew with a recommended optimal floating position for voyage planning.
