SHI Demos SENSE IV, Its Own Natural Gas Liquefaction Process

Samsung Heavy Industries announced on November 18 that it successfully held a demonstration ceremony at the Geoje shipyard for "SENSE IV (SAMSUNG Enhanced Nitrogen Split Exapnsion IV)", SHI's in-house natural gas liquefaction system.The demonstration, which began on November 16, was attended by several major LNG producers and classification societies.The natural gas liquefaction system, called "An LNG plant on the sea," is one of the main processes of FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas)…

DNV GL Wins KOGAS TQ Contract

DNV GL Korea, the technical advisor to the oil and gas industry, has been awarded a technology qualification (TQ) contract with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) for a FEED Package for a 5MTPA onshore LNG liquefaction plant based on the innovative KSMR liquefaction process. KSMR is a new natural gas liquefaction process and is for LNG plants and floating LNG due to its compactness. A pilot KSMR LNG liquefaction plant of 100 tonnes per day is being constructed by KOGAS to verify the operability and the efficiency at the Incheon LNG receiving terminal in Korea. KOGAS has invited DNV GL to perform a TQ in line with DNV GL’s Recommended Practice DNV-RP-A203.

US Patent for OSMR Technology

Liquefied     Natural     Gas     Limited    informed    that    the    United    States    Patent    and    Trademark    Office    has    allowed    a    patent    application    related    to    the    Company’s core    LNG    processing    design. The     Company     expects     a     granted     Patent     to     be     issued in     several     weeks     to protect     its primary    invention being a    Method    and    System    for    Production    of    Liquid    Natural    Gas. • Australia    (Gladstone    Fisherman’s    Landing    LNG    Project    in    Queensland,    Australia    export    of    3    mtpa    with    potential    for    future    expansion).
