The U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday said its engineers recovered remaining debris and presumed human remains from the imploded Titan submersible in the North Atlantic.The evidence recovered from the seafloor by marine safety engineers with the Coast Guard’s Marine Board of Investigation (MBI) was transferred to shore for analysis as part of ongoing investigations into the fatal incident.In June, the Titan imploded while on a voyage to visit the wreck site of the famed sunken ocean liner Titanic, killing all five people on board.

Deep-sea manned submersible operations provider, OceanGate, has completed a series of dives in the Gulf of Mexico to observe the ecological impact of decommissioned oil platforms on ocean life using the 5-person manned submersible Antipodes. This expedition was part of an initial study related to the "Rigs to Reefs" program, a critical issue in the decommissioning of platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and around the world, and highlighted the unique ability of manned submersibles to collect a wide range of data, environmental information, and assessments around oil platforms.

China Merchants Holdings (International) Co. Ltd. along with Cosco Pacific Ltd., a unit of China Investment Corp. and Euro-Asia Oceangate will pay US$919.9 million to buy a 64.5% stake in Fina Liman from Fina Holding. Fina Liman is an investment-holding company that owns and operates a port terminal in Turkey. The acquisition gives the consortium access to the terminal of Fina’s subsidiary Kumport. Kumport Terminal is a modern container terminal in the Ambarli Port Complex, which is on the northwest coast of the Marmara Sea on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. The Company, CMHI and CIC Capital, through their respective wholly-owned subsidiaries, hold 40%, 40% and 20%, respectively, of the shares in the Consortium SPV.

COSCO Shipping Ports More than Doubled Profit in 2017

Hong Kong-based port operator COSCO Shipping Ports said that it 2017 profits have more than doubled from a year earlier, partly due to a one-off disposal gain and higher operating profits. The subsidiary and listed company of China COSCO owned by COSCO Group said that its profit  reached USD 512.4 million in 2017, representing an increase of 107.4 pct compared with 2016 when the profit stood at USD 247 million. The firm's full year revenue rose 14% to US$634.7 million. Benefitting from the economic recovery and with growth fueled by its acquisitions, the Group has achieved promising results for the year, with total throughput of 100,202,185 TEU. During the year, it completed the acquisition of a 51% equity interest in Noatum Port Holdings S.L.
