New CTVs Delivered for Hornsea Wind Farm

A pair of 39-meter multipurpose crew transfer vessels have been built by PT Bintang Timur Samudera in Indonesia and delivered to MH-O & Co to be operated for Orsted in its Hornsea Project One wind farm offshore England.According to designer Incat Crowther, the new vessels MHO Gurli and MHO Esbjerg are the largest wind farm support vessels to enter service to date anywhere in the world. They draw on Incat Crowther’s experience with larger offshore fast catamarans operating in the oil and gas industry.

DEME DP2 Jack-up Vessel Named ‘Apollo’

Global Decommissioning Set for Record Levels in 3 Years

With the global offshore decommissioning industry expected to reach $36bn over the next 3 years, several hundred offshore oil and gas wells could cease production by 2021 in the face of today’s bearish oil market.As a consequence, so-called decommissioning obligations in the global oil and gas industry rose to $11.7 billion last year and are projected to hold steady at an average of about $12 billion per year from 2019 through 2021, according to Rystad Energy.“2018 was an all-time high, and the next years are set to break this record,” said Rystad Energy partner Audun Martinsen.

LORD Corporation Receives API 16F Certification

The provider of motion and vibration control solutions for the oil and gas industry LORD Corporation is now certified to the American Petroleum Institute's (API) standard 16F testing for telescopic joint (TJ) packers. Testing was conducted to the second edition of API standard 16F, effective May 1, 2018, a harsher standard than the first edition in that the inner barrel must not be lubricated during testing. Confidence in the outlook for Asia Pacific’s oil and gas industry has more than doubled in the past two years, according to new research published by DNV GL, the technical advisor to the oil and gas industry.According to a new research from DNV GL, three quarters (76%) of senior oil and gas professionals in Asia Pacific are optimistic about the industry’s growth in 2019, compared with 58% in 2018 and 30% in 2017. The proportion of industry leaders who are confident in their own organizations’ prospects has also risen from 59% last year to 74% in 2019.

Global Gas Output Hit Record in a Decade in 2018

The oil and gas industry achieved a net production increase of 164bn cubic metres (bcm), which represents the highest production growth since 2010, according to research by Rystad Energy.“Year-on-year growth was clearly driven by North America, which accounted for 71 bcm, followed by the Middle East with 39 bcm. Europe was the only region that experienced a reduction in 2018,” Rystad Energy partner Espen Erlingsen said.Rystad Energy forecasts the supply surge will continue in the coming years.

Cook Inlet Tug & Barge (CITB), an independently managed subsidiary of Foss Maritime Company, announced that Foss project manager Amber Thomas has been selected as interim Business Operations Manager for Anchorage. Ørsted Hires NHV for Borssele Offshore Wind Farm

The Belgium-based NHV group, which is specialized in B-to-B helicopter services and has a strong geographic presence in Europe and Western Africa, said that it has signed new contract with Ørsted to provide helicopter services in support of the Borssele 1+2 Offshore Wind farm.The oil and gas industry focused helicopter services provider said that the operations are expected to start in May 2020.
