New Bunker Vessel Delivered to Maxum Petroleum

Maxum Petroleum has taken delivery of its newest tank ship, the Global Provider. The newbuild will deliver fuel and lube oil to ship operators in the Pacific Northwest.The vessel, the first in its design and size for Maxum Petroleum, was designed by Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) of Seattle and built by Jesse Engineering of Tacoma, Wash.Global Provider is a self-propelled bunker ship measuring 126'-2" in length, with a 32 ' beam, 10' draft and 13' depth to main deck. Over the last 30 years, Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) has been involved in numerous waterfront projects including the design of ferries, barges and tugs. Although its history is rich with traditional vessel designs, occasionally the firm is involved in more unique projects, one of them being the design of a purpose-built landing craft for San Juan Ferry & Barge.EBDG partnered with Latitude Marine Services (LMS) to update the design of a current landing craft operated by San Juan Ferry & Barge, designed by EBDG and built by LMS.

Pemamek Ltd. is delivering high-tech PEMA welding automation to Mississippi-based Ingalls Shipbuilding’s Pascagoula shipyard. The extensive and technologically advanced automation solutions provide Ingalls improved panel production and enhanced work flow. Mississippi-based Ingalls Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of the Huntington Ingalls Industries, kicked off its “Shipyard of the Future” initiative in 2014. Patrol Vessel Delivered to Nigeria's Homeland

A Damen 3307 Patrol Vessel has been delivered to Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Ltd of Lagos, Nigeria, taking its fleet of these craft up to three, with a fourth currently under construction. Guardian 3 along with its sister ships Guardian 1 and Guardian 2 is now providing security and other support services to the international offshore oil companies active off the coast of Nigeria in the Gulf of Guinea, in cooperation with the Nigerian Navy. Vigor Delivers Tank EBDG Barge to Maxum Petroleum

The Seattle divisions of Vigor Fab and Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) today announced that the 15,000-barrel tank barge Global Pilot has been delivered to Maxum Petroleum. Designed to balance performance with fabrication cost, the 15,000-barrel tank barge features a recessed machinery space aft for improved visibility and a state-of-the-art tankerman’s office. It also has dimensionally identical cargo tanks, corrugated plate tank bulkheads, and plate seams arranged to maximize material usage of standard 8-foot and 10-foot plates.

US Marine Consultancy EBDG Expands, Employs Marine Engineers

Elliott Bay Design Group LLC (EBDG) says it has welcomed two new Marine Engineers to its team: William Summers (Bill) in its New Orleans office and Eileen Tausch in its Seattle office. Summers is a seasoned marine professional with more than three decades experience in the offshore and oilfield industry. His varied background encompasses the development and planning of marine engineering vessel modifications and new construction vessel operations. He holds a MBA from Tulane University and a BS in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Tausch graduated with a BS in Naval Architecture from the University of Michigan (U‐M) and minored in Electrical Engineering.

Bourbon inform that on the recommendation of the Nominating, Compensation and Governance Committee, the Board of Directors has decided to reappoint Christian Lefèvre as Chief Executive Officer from January 1, 2014 for a 3 year period. Christian Lefèvre is also serving as Board Member, and on his proposal the Board of Directors has also decided to reappoint
 Gaël Bodénès and Laurent Renard as Executive Vice-Presidents for the same length of period. Bourbon adds that the composition of the Executive Committee remained unchanged.

After a quarter of a century, EBDG leads the U.S. ferry market and begins a new journey as a unique employee-owned company. Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) celebrates its 25th anniversary and a successful first year following a management buyout by nearly half its employees. Since EBDG opened its doors it has designed tugs, research vessels, offshore supply vessels, and more vehicle ferries than any other U.S. firm. Brian King, Vice President of Engineering, was one of the first employees hired after the company was founded in 1988.

Ingalls Wins $46m for DDG 1002 Work

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced that the company's Ingalls Shipbuilding division has been awarded an advance procurement contract for work on the U.S. Navy's third Zumwalt-class destroyer, DDG 1002. The contract is valued at $46 million, with the majority of the work taking place at the company's Composite Center of Excellence in Gulfport. "Strategically, this is a very important contract to our company and specifically to the composite shipbuilders working in Gulfport," said Karrie Trauth, Ingalls Shipbuilding's DDG 1000 program manager.

BIW Secures DDG 1001 Funding

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $110,799,779 contract modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-06-C-2303) for long lead time construction for DDG 1001, long lead time material for DDG 1002, and engineering and production support services. Work will be performed in Coatesville, Pa. (23.3 percent); Erie, Pa. (13 percent); Walpole, Mass. (12.9 percent); Parsippany, N.J. (11.1 percent); Loanhead, Midlothian, United Kingdom (5.4 percent); Deer Park, Texas (5.4 percent); Newton Square, Pa. (4.5 percent); Kingsford, Mich. (4.4 percent); Milwaukee, Wis. (2.8 percent); South Portland, Maine (2.7 percent); and other various locations with less than 2 percent (14.5 percent). Work is expected to be completed by October 2011.

BIW: $105m Contract Modification

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, is being awarded a $105,353,508 modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-06-C-2303) for long-lead time construction for DDG 1001; long-lead time material for DDG 1002; and engineering and production support services.  Work is expected to be performed in Bath, Maine (52 percent); Parsippany, N.J. (21 percent); Iron Mountain, Mich. (8 percent); York, Pa. (7 percent); Mississauga, Canada (6 percent); Vernon, Conn. (3 percent); and South Portland, Maine (3 percent).  Work is expected to be completed by February 2011.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
