The  global energy services company has announced the acquisition of SGC Metering from Petrofac.SGC Metering is a specialist in the design and manufacture of flow computer metering systems for the oil and gas industry. The chief executive of energy services company Proserv has been named Ernst & Young Scotland Entrepreneur of the Year 2013. Judges praised David Lamont for molding “a phenomenal business of a truly global nature” in overseeing a 25% year-on-year growth during his two years at the company which operates from 30 sites across the globe. A panel of experts picked Mr. Lamont ahead of 28 other business leaders and he will now go forward to represent Scotland at the UK Entrepreneur of the Year final in October.

A energy production technology services company Proserv has bolstered its rapidly-evolving global footprint and specialist integrated services after acquiring major US company Total Instrumentation & Controls (TIC). The acquisition of Houston-based TIC, which specializes in advanced process and control systems equipment and has a second manufacturing facility in Lafayette (LA), also significantly increases Proserv’s talent pool by more than 300 people to over 1600 with the entire American-based workforce joining forces with the company under the Proserv mantle.

Proserv secure a £1.2-million contract to supply topside control equipment at a major southern North Sea development. The company was awarded the deal on the Cygnus field by operator GDF SUEZ through its design contractor AMEC. As part of the agreement Proserv will supply the design, engineering and build of wellhead control panels and accompanying topside umbilical termination unit for the Alpha and Bravo platforms. Six of the 10 development wells for both platforms will be controlled by the initial panel design and includes the commissioning of spares and specialist tools.

Decom North Sea (DNS), the offshore oil & gas decommissioning forum, held its annual general meeting last night in St Andrews, with 10 new directors elected from across all sectors of the decommissioning industry. The meeting heard that the supply chain body now has 213 fee paying members. Proserv Offshore, a global provider of subsea maintenance, abandonment and decommissioning solutions and services to the offshore energy industry, has recently been awarded a substantial contract with DONG Energy to supply and operate their innovative wind generator pile cleaning solution at DONG’s Walney 1 Windfarm, located in the Irish Sea. The specialized Marine Growth Removal (MGR) solution was initially developed and manufactured by Proserv Offshore’s Aberdeen facility for a major installation contractor in the North Sea. They required a solution to speed up the pile cleaning process and avoid possible costly maintenance work in the future.
