Simrad Intros HALO20+ Radar

Simrad Yachting, a member of the Navico family, has introduced SIMRAD HALO20+ and HALO20 Radars, a pair of compact, pulse compression radar units, designed for smaller sport-fishing and cruising vessels.Already available in a 24-inch dome, the new HALO20+ radar is its smallest Pulse Compression Dome Radar yet, said the global manufacturer of Marine Chartplotters, Autopilots & Entertainment for sports fishing boats, motor boats & luxury cruisers.The new 20-inch dome packs in the same features. Simrad, Patti Marine Partner on Vessel Bridge Suite

Simrad Commercial, in partnership with Patti Marine Enterprises, has announced the latest vessel commissioned for the Truex clamming fleet is outfitted with a complete suite of Simrad Commercial marine electronics. Seawatcher II, a 152-foot clamming vessel, features two Simrad NSO evo2 processors driving five 18.5-inch monitors, an AP70 Autopilot, Halo-4 and Halo-6 Pulse Compression Radar systems and two SonarHub sonar processing systems. The design of the Seawatcher  II is based on an original concept developed in partnership with the Truex family in 2003.

Brisbane Pilots Receive Simrad Radar Upgrade

Pilots in the Port of Brisbane, one of Australia’s fastest growing container ports, are using the word “unmatched” when describing the performance of new navigational equipment from electronic navigation specialist Simrad, a brand within the Navico group. Installed during the recent refit of the pilot boat Amity, the equipment installations include an NSS12 evo2, 12-inch chart-plotter and multifunction display with GPS positioning, supported by a Simrad GS25 GPS antenna, as well as the recently-launched Simrad Halo 3ft Radar operating with the latest Pulse Compression technology.

Navico Makes its Commercial Push

Marine electronics group Navico, a literal ‘house of brands’ for the recreational, sail, power and commercial marine markets, is making a strong push in the commercial sector with its Simrad brand. The ascension of Navico in recreational marine electronics business – an estimated $1 billion market globally – was fast and furious, growing from roughly 7% of the global market in 2005 to nearly 30% in 2007, standing steady at about 35% today, fueled by a strategy built on the acquisition of strong brands mixed with organic growth.
