Willard Licenses SeaArk Commercial, Military Boats
Willard Marine, Inc., has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with SeaArk Marine, Inc., to build all of its commercial and military boat models, of which 7,000 have been sold worldwide since SeaArk Marine’s founding nearly 60 years ago. Based in Monticello, Ark., SeaArk Marine is family owned and was operated by the McClendon family beginning in 1959, and they experienced great success delivering boats to all 50 states, every U.S. held territory, and over 70 countries around the world.
Kirby Retires from SeaArk
SeaArk Marine announced the retirement of Vice President of Engineering, Casmer “Cas” Kirby. Kirby began his career with SeaArk Marine, Inc. in 1991 and was promoted to Vice President of Engineering for the company in 2006. During that time, he led SeaArk Marine’s Engineering team through some of the most successful periods of the company’s history. Well known for incorporating extreme durability into every design detail, Kirby brought a wealth of oil field crew boat type construction techniques with him when he joined the company from South Louisiana over 20 years ago.
SeaArk Marine Announces Promotion
Willie Brennon was promoted to Manufacturing Manager of SeaArk Marine, Inc. on December 1st, 2006. Mr. Brennon is a 30 year veteran of the company, most recently serving as the Team Coordinator over the welding shops and paint facilities of the company. Marcus Junior, paint shop Team Leader for the company, was promoted to the Team Coordinator position and will oversee all paint operations for the company under Mr. Brennon.
SeaArk Marine Wins $14M Warfare Boats Deal
The cash continue to flow from government sources into the coffers of the U.S. marine business, as SeaArk Marine, Inc. yesterday announced a two-year, $14-million contract from Naval Sea Systems Command for 36 Coastal Warfare Boats. The 34-ft. aluminum boats are powered by Cummins Diesel engines with Twin Disc gears and Konrad stern drives. patrol and defense, these boats will be deployed to protect military facilities worldwide. SeaArk Marine Responds to Gulf Oil Spill
SeaArk Marine, Inc, of Monticello, Ark. has announced immediate plans to expand their production capacity to better meet the needs of the Gulf Oil Crisis. “Unfortunately, it appears this catastrophe is going to be around for some time” said Ken McFalls, Vice President of Sales. “We already have the manpower and overflow facilities to handle emergency situations such as this. SeaArk Delivers Patrol Boat
SeaArk Marine, Inc. recently delivered the Cayman Defender, a 38-foot Dauntless RAM Patrol boat to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Marine Unit. The fast patrol boat is to be assigned to the joint Customs, Police and Immigration Marine Unit for border protection. The SeaArk Dauntless Class vessel is constructed of all-welded marine grade aluminum. The vessel is powered by twin MAN diesel engines at 550 hp each coupled to ZF gears. This patrol boat can attain a top speed of 33 knots with a comfortable cruise of 28 knots.

SeaArk Marine and Alan C. McClure Associates (ACMA) teamed to design, build and deliver a customized crew boat to Maryland Environmental Services (MES). The 48-ft. Dauntless Class all-welded aluminum crew boat is a deep-vee hull designed to transport officials and dignitaries to view the progress being made in reclaiming wetlands for the Poplar Island Project on Maryland's Eastern Shore in the Chesapeake Bay. ACMA's initial efforts were focused on defining the requirements and general overall characteristics that would be required of the vessel in its operating environment. ACMA then developed the specifications for bid and evaluated the responses to the bid packages. McClendon Family Celebrates 50 Years
Zach McClendon, Jr. of Monticello, Ark. will celebrate being in the boat building business for 50 consecutive years this September. McClendon, along with his father, Zach McClendon, Sr. and another local businessman, Norris Judkins started MonArk Boat Company in May of 1958 building small aluminum jon boats using a shear and break press provided by Judkins. SeaArk Marine Awarded Contract
SeaArk Marine, aluminum work and patrol boat builder, was recently awarded a contract to built six 40 ft. Dauntless Class patrol boats by the U.S. Navy. The SeaArks are being purchased by the Department of Defense, in support of the PERU Riverine Program. The contract will be administered by the Naval Sea System Command. The vessels will be in operation in Peru on the Amazon River and other river systems. The Peruvian Coast Guard will use the boats for patrol and drug interdiction. Each SeaArk will be outfitted with twin diesel inboard engines, extensive electronics package, berthing for four, galley, head with shower and weapons mounts. Delivery is scheduled to begin in June 2000, with the last boat to be delivered in November 2000.
SeaArk Promotes McClendon To V.P.
Robin McClendon, former marketing director for SeaArk Marine and SeaArk Boats has been promoted to vice president of marketing and communications for both companies. In her new position, McClendon will head all internal and external communications, and will be responsible for overseeing the year-long strategic plans of both companies.

SeaArk Marine: Temporarily Discontinues Accepting New Orders
Military and industrial aluminum boat manufacturer SeaArk Marine, Inc. of Monticello, Arkansas said it will temporarily suspend acceptance of new boat orders until further notice. Due to very sporadic and extremely low (new construction) sales figures for nearly 24 straight months, the company announced that it would begin an overhead reduction plan in an attempt to “ride out” the effects of the current market until substantial improvement in the government & industrial marine sector appeared more apparent. SeaArk Marine, Inc. is not completely shutting down its operations.

Workskiff Inc. recently received acceptance from the U.S. Navy for delivery of boats to be used in the homeland defense effort. Workskiff was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of the Navy for nine harbor security boats, boats that will be used in support of harbor security forces at Navy facilities and adjacent waterways.
SeaArk Delivers Vessel to National Park Service
SeaArk Marine, Inc. has delivered a 42-ft Dauntless Class Vessel to Cumberland Island National Seashore in St. Mary’s, Georgia. The vessel, Loggerhead, is tasked with transporting park rangers, personnel, and light equipment from St. Mary’s to Cumberland Island and jurisdictional waters within the Park Service. The SeaArk 42-ft Dauntless is constructed of all-welded marine grade aluminum. The state of the art design incorporates a two-man pilothouse and a 20-passenger aft crew cabin. All interior spaces are climate controlled for crew and passenger comfort.

Willard Marine to Develop Crystaliner
Willard Marine, Inc., has acquired the rights to design and manufacture Crystaliner boats, a line of surf and rescue vessels that have been an icon on the West Coast for nearly six decades. Crystaliner was founded in Southern California in 1956 by John Norek and specialized in fiberglass recreational and commercial boats that were particularly popular with lifeguards, harbor patrol and rescue operations. Crystaliner is credited with building the molds for the Navy’s first 16’ fiberglass lifeboat, and in 1959, the first fiberglass boat to win the Miami Nassau Race.
SeaArk Delivers Survey Boats to Corps of Engineers
SeaArk Marine, Inc. recently delivered two 2610 survey boats to the Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District. The vessels are assigned to Pleasant Valley, Iowa and Lock and Dam 18 in Gladstone, Ill. The vessels are powered by twin Mercury Optimax, 225 hp outboard engines with side mounted dual controls and hydraulic trim tabs. These vessels can easily attain a top speed in excess of 34kts fully manned. All enclosed cabin spaces are fully insulated, air conditioned and heated.
Ross Labs Delivers Survey Boat
In mid-May Ross Laboratories, Inc., Seattle, Wash., delivered the first of two survey boats to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Rock Island District. The Ross "Mini-Sweep" is a small boat multi-channel survey system, designed for inland rivers and shallow water surveying. surveyor who worked for the RI District who recently passed away. The "Mini-Sweep" is ideally suited for installation on small trailerable vessels. The "turn-key" system for Rock Island District included a custom designed 35 ft. twin-hull workboat from SeaArk Marine, Inc. of Monticello, Ark. Two 20-ft. booms mounted on either side of the vessel provide a 50-ft. overall sweep width. The booms are stored in recessed areas in the hull, leaving the deck clear at all times.
