Bourque Joins Sea Machines
Following a recent capital investment and the growing global interest from the marine sector, Sea Machines Robotics said it has been expanding its crew and is poised for further growth, expecting to deliver first generation systems to marine customers this summer. Over the past two months, Sea Machines has added multiple new members to its experienced team of engineers, scientists and mariners. Among the new hires is Phil Bourque, the company’s new director of business development.
Seakeeper 6 Unveiled for 40'-49' Vessels
Seakeeper Inc. has released its newest model, the Seakeeper 6, designed to eliminate up to 95 percent of boat roll on 40- to 49-foot vessels, up to roughly 20 tons. While providing a level of stabilization comparable to Seakeeper’s original model, the M7000, the new Seakeeper 6 is a considerable 40 percent smaller, draws 25 percent less power, and costs roughly half as much as the original model. As marine stabilization has evolved and spread over the past decade, customers’ expectations have evolved as well.
Seakeeper Names Semprevivo COO
Marine stabilization company Seakeeper Inc. has promoted Andrew Semprevivo to Chief Operating Officer, effective April 10. A Seakeeper employee since the commercialization of the company in 2008, Semprevivo assumed various sales roles, culminating in his appointment as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2014. In his new role, Semprevivo will continue to lead the company’s sales and marketing efforts in addition to playing a leadership role in other departments of the organization.
Goeke Appointed COO of Seakeeper
The worldwide leader in gyroscopic boat roll stabilization, Seakeeper, Inc. appointed a new chief operating officer. Tom Goeke most recently served as chief executive officer of Kloeckner Pentaplast Group, a multinational manufacturer of industrial films and coatings. "Tom is the right man at the right time for Seakeeper. With our sales more than doubling year on year, we are experiencing the transition from limited production to mass manufacturing and want to realize all of the benefits that such a transition makes possible," said Seakeeper CEO Shepard McKenney. "He has successfully run a large manufacturing company in a mature industry where absolute quality and efficiency is the standard," continued McKenney.
