SeeByte Selected to Develop Future Crewed-uncrewed Teaming Concept

Classification society ABS said it has signed a joint development project (JDP) with South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. GTT Acquires Marorka

French LNG containment specialist  Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has acquired 100 percent of the share capital of the Icelandic smart shipping specialist Marorka.Based in Iceland and specialized in Smart Shipping, Marorka designs maritime energy monitoring and optimization systems for vessels, allowing them to reduce their environmental footprint. Deutsche Private Equity GmbH (DPE) is set to become the new majority shareholder in INTERSCHALT maritime systems AG, the maritime software and services provider for navigation and communications equipment for ships as well as manufacturer of a Voyage Data Recorder, with retroactive effect from December 31, 2014. The shipping company Peter Döhle and Gärtner Consulting GmbH will remain the other shareholders of the company. Robert Gärtner will also continue at the helm of the company in his capacity as CEO together with the current management team.

Largest All-Electric Pipe Bender Starts Operations at Newport News Shipbuilding

Unison has commissioned what is believed to be the largest all-electric tube bending machine ever produced. The machine has started operations at Newport News Shipbuilding, supplier of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines to the US Navy. The machine is capable of generating over 265,000 lb-ft (360,000 Nm) of torque and can bend piping up to 8 inches NPS - with an outside diameter of 8.625 inches or 219.1 mm - with Schedule 80 wall thicknesses of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm). The availability of all-electric, servomotor-controlled bending machines for pipes of this size brings significant productivity benefits to the fabrication of a ship's pipework compared with conventional hydraulically-powered machinery.

Royal New Zealand Navy Upgrades Software

The features of the product mainly focus on easy data production and effective validation of ENCs for Hydrographic Offices, Waterway Authorities, Ports, Pilots or Navies. With its new ENC Encryptor SevenCs is taking the usability of ENC data to the next level. Local ENC data can be safely distributed via permit protection without the need to provide data via a RENC. This way sensitive information can be protected and the use of up-to-date data is assured. SeeByte Announces Sale to the Royal Netherlands Navy

This significant purchase has come after the Royal Netherlands Navy’s successful use of SeeTrack Military over the past six years. SeeByte Selected by U.S. for Foreign Comparative Testing

Edinburgh, Scotland - SeeByte, the global leader in creating smart software technology for unmanned systems, has been selected by the U.S. Office of the Secretary of Defense, Comparative Test Office, to participate in a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) Program in support of a U.S. Navy Program of Record managed by the Naval Sea Systems Command, EOD Program Office. The FCT is designed to test selected foreign technologies, as evaluated by U.S. Military Operators, with a view to future procurement. SeeByte will integrate existing autonomy software into the Common Operator Interface for Navy EOD (COIN).
