AVEVA Announced Academic Initiative in Vietnam

AVEVA announced the beginning of a partnership with two institutions in Vietnam, the Shipbuilding Industry Association (VISIA) and The School of Transportation Engineering of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (STE-HUST). These strategic partnerships will enable VISIA & STE-HUST to offer engineering and design software to its members, as well as support systematic training programs. These programs will be focused on software implementation in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and marine industries throughout Vietnam.

PT Logindo Vessels Get Tero Software

Norwegian maritime software house Tero Marine has won a contract with Indonesian offshore company PT Logindo to implement software on several of its vessels. The contract covers software implementation on three ships but with the possibility of being extended to include the Indonesian company’s entire fleet of 35 vessels. Tero Marine hopes the contract can help open several doors in the region. “Logindo is a fast growing company, and one of the biggest in offshore shipping in the region. Over a relatively short period of time, they have expanded their fleet with a large number of vessels and are an exciting company for us to work with,” explained Satish Kanakasabai, Technical Manager at the Tero Marine office in Singapore.

Reederei Claus-Peter Offen Selects ABS Nautical Systems

ABS Nautical Systems today announced that implementation of its NS5 Enterprise software suite has begun on Reederei Claus-Peter Offen’s fleet of container vessels. Based in Hamburg and one of the world’s largest suppliers of modern container tonnage, the company will be utilizing three modules from ABS Nautical Systems’ integrated software solution. Reederei Claus-Peter Offen purchased the Maintenance & Repair, Purchasing & Inventory and Voyage Management modules for its fleet of 103 vessels. These modules provide the tools to track maintenance expenses, upcoming drydocks and repairs, inventory replacement needs, fuel consumption and cargo operations across their entire fleet.

Formosa Plastics Marine Selects ABS Nautical Systems

ABS Nautical Systems announced that its fully integrated asset management software suite NS5 has been selected for trial by Formosa Plastics Marine Corp. (FPMC), part of the Formosa Plastics Group - the only privately owned Taiwan oil refinery and the second largest gasoline and gasoil producer in Taiwan. This new relationship marks the entry of ABS Nautical Systems into the Taiwan market and continues its expansion throughout Asia. FPMC will evaluate several modules from the NS5 software suite through the ABS Newbuild Program including Maintenance & Repair, Hull Inspection and Drawings Management. When making a decision to assess ABS Nautical Systems’ offerings, FPMC was particularly interested in the software’s capability for class integration with the ABS Eagle Survey Manager program.

Tianjin Standardizes on PTC Shipbuilding Solutions

PTC, the Product Development company, and Tianjin New Harbor Shipyard jointly announced that Tianjin New Harbor Shipyard has expanded its use of PTC Shipbuilding Solution, which includes CADDS5i to improve its design capabilities. With the expanded software implementation, Tianjin New Harbor Shipyard is standardizing on PTC Shipbuilding Solution as its manufacturing design platform. Tianjin New Harbor Shipyard believes that this decision will further accelerate its transformation into a modern international shipbuilding enterprise. The CADDS 5i solution enables users to refer to each other’s evolving designs and facilitate concurrent engineering in a fully digitized ship design and 3D modeling environment.

The suite of CADDS 5i solutions enables users to reference each other's evolving designs and facilitate concurrent engineering in a fully digitized ship design and 3D modeling environment.

Huangpu Shipbuilding expanded its use of PTC Shipbuilding Solution, which includes CADDS5i to improve its overall design capabilities. With the expanded software implementation, Huangpu Shipbuilding is standardizing PTC Shipbuilding Solution as its manufacturing design platform. Huangpu Shipbuilding believes that this decision will further accelerate its transformation into a modern international shipbuilding enterprise. CADDS 5i enables users to reference each other's evolving designs and facilitate concurrent engineering in a fully digitized ship design and 3D modeling environment. The application is designed to shorten product design lead-time and accelerate time-to-market, and will now be used by 80 additional engineers at Huangpu Shipbuilding.
