The cargo-handling solutions provider Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to supply a total of 12 diesel-electric straddle carriers to leading Australian terminal operator Patrick Terminals.The order, which comprises eight automated Kalmar AutoStrad(TM) units and four manually operated Kalmar Straddle Carriers, was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake. Kalmar to Deliver Straddle Carriers to Maher Terminals
The marine industry equipment manufacturer Kalmar is to deliver a further order of straddle carriers to Maher Terminals LLC for use at their marine container terminal located in the Port of New York and New Jersey.According to a press release from Kalmar, part of Cargotec, the order of 26 straddle carriers was booked in Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake, and delivery is scheduled to take place during Q1 of 2019.Maher Terminals is one of the largest privately held, multi-user container terminal operators in the world. The company has developed North America's largest marine container terminal in the Port of New York and New Jersey. The terminal covers a total area of approximately 500 acres (200 hectares) and has an estimated capacity of 2 million TEU.
Kalmar Backs Suomen Satamatekniikka Oy
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a Kalmar Care service agreement with Suomen Satamatekniikka, a subsidiary of Steveco, covering the maintenance and service of 16 Kalmar straddle carriers at the Port of Helsinki, Finland. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake and the agreement comes into effect from the beginning of February 2018. Steveco, a leading port operator in Finland, employs approximately 850 people and has annual revenues of close to EUR 160 million. The company operates three ports in Finland - Mussalo and Hietanen in Kotka, and Vuosaari in Helsinki - which are optimally located with regard to the main cargo routes into and out of Finland and Russia.
Terex to Automate Ports of Auckland's Straddle Carrier Fleet
Terex Port Solutions (TPS) is for the first time automating a straddle carrier fleet for Ports of Auckland Ltd. (POAL) from New Zealand. By mid-2019, TPS will supply a total of 27 new, fully automated N SC 644 E (1-over-3) machines to work in the container stackyard and to serve trucks. At the same time, 21 existing manual straddle carriers are being upgraded so that they can work hand in hand with the 27 fully automated machines. In addition to the supply and upgrade of the vehicles, the order also includes all sub-systems and software systems required for operation. Before POAL placed the order, TPS verified the feasibility and safety of the concept in a detailed study. 900,000 TEU to 1.6 to 1.7 million TEU.
APM Terminals Vado Orders 19 Straddle Carriers
APM Terminals has signed a contract for the delivery of 19 advanced container handlers which will employ advanced diesel/electric power sourcing to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions for Italy’s newest container terminal. Vado, Italy – APM Terminals has concluded a contract with Finnish-based container handling equipment manufacturer Kalmar for the delivery of 19 Hybrid Straddle Carriers for the new 800,000 TEU annual capacity deepwater APM Terminals Vado facility now under construction on northern Italy’s Ligurian Coast. The facility will be the world’s first container terminal to employ an entirely hybrid straddle carrier fleet.
Kalmar to Deliver Straddle Carriers for Maher's NJ Terminal
Kalmar has received a large order for 27 straddle carriers from its long-term customer Maher Terminals LLC in Elizabeth, NJ. The order has been booked into Cargotec's 2015 third quarter order intake and deliveries are expected to be completed during the spring 2016. Maher Terminals is both renewing and expanding their straddle carrier fleet, now with environmentally responsible diesel-electric power utilizing U.S. EPA-mandated Tier 4 Final emission controls. The Kalmar ESC350 diesel-electric straddle carriers are rated for 50 metric tons (mt) with twin 20 feet containers or 40 mt with single containers. Included also in these straddle carriers are special features to improve productivity and performance in the challenging operating conditions of the customer.
Kalmar Delivers 10 Straddle Carriers to MCT
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has gained an order to supply ten electric straddle carriers to its long standing customer Medcenter Container Terminal (MCT), part of the Contship Italia Group, in Gioia Tauro, Italy. The order was booked into Kalmar's second quarter order intake with deliveries scheduled for November 2014. The latest order sees Kalmar strengthen an already long standing relationship with MCT. Currently handling an annual 3 million TEUs, the transshipment hub continues to grow and is now considered to be the "Mega Hub "in the South Europe region, with both global reach to all major markets and regional connections on a weekly basis with over 60 ports throughout the Mediterranean, Tyrrhenian, Aegean and Black Sea.
New Straddle Carriers for MSC Terminal in Antwerp
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has gained an order to supply five Kalmar electric straddle carriers for MSC Home Terminal in Antwerp, Belgium. In addition, Kalmar will supply one new generation hybrid straddle carrier to the customer on a rental basis. The agreement was signed in August 2013 and the new units will be delivered in February 2014. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order. The order has been booked into Cargotec's 2013 third quarter order intake. MSC Home Terminal is a 50/50 joint venture between PSA and TIL.
HHLA Orders 14 Kalmar Straddle Carriers
Hamburg terminal operator HHLA (Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG) has placed an order with Cargotec for 14 Kalmar 7+ generation ESC350W diesel-electric straddle carriers. The new machines, acknowledged as the most environmentally friendly model offered by Cargotec, will be deployed at HHLA's Container Terminal Burchardkai (CTB) facility and will be delivered in September this year. The new straddle carriers feature Selective Catalytic Reduction engine technology, designed to meet Stage 3B engine emissions requirements that came into force in the European Union earlier this year.
