PetroChina Tops Singapore's List of 2021 Bunker Fuel Suppliers

World’s Largest LNG Bunkering Vessel Named in Rotterdam

The world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker vessel was officially named during a ceremony held Friday in Rotterdam. The 135.5-meter-long, 18,600-cubic-meter-capacity GTT Mark III Flex membrane vessel has been named Gas Agility.The first LNG bunker vessel owned by Emerald Green Maritime Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Total Charters LNG Dual-fuel VLCCs

Malaysian shipowner AET said it signed a deal with Total's Chartering and Shipping Services SA for the time charter of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel very large crude carriers (VLCC). The two newbuilds, which are able to carry about 300,000 tons of crude oil each, are scheduled to be delivered to AET from the first quarter of 2022.The two newbuilds will be powered by LNG and will be among the most environmentally friendly VLCCs in the market. When in service, they will emit around 20% less CO2 greenhouse gases than conventional vessels; 85% less NOx and 99% less SOx.

Total in 10-Year LNG Bunkering Pact with Pavilion

Temasek-owned Pavilion Energy has signed a 10-year fully-termed agreement to jointly develop an LNG bunker supply chain in the port of Singapore with Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions (TMFGS),  a subsidiary of French energy conglomerate Total SA.Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised  on signing the contract.The agreement includes the shared long-term use of 12,000 cu m LNG bunker vessel (LNGBV). Total, MOL Charter LNG Bunker Vessel

Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions (TMFGS) and , Ltd. (MOL) have signed a long-term charter contract for a second large LNG bunker vessel, to be delivered in 2021. She will be positioned in the Marseille-Fos area in France.This bunker vessel will be built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China. MOL Signs LNG Charter with Pavilion Gas

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has announced that it has signed a long-term charter contract to operate Asia's largest (12,000m3-class) LNG bunkering vessel in Singapore, the world's largest fuel supply port, with Pavilion Gas, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pavilion Energy.Demand for LNG as bunker fuel is expected to grow on a global scale as stricter SOx regulations take effect in January 2020. Singapore MPA, Société Générale Join LNG Advocacy Group

The liquefied natural gas (LNG) advocacy group SEA\LNG has announced the appointment of Paul Taylor representing Société Générale and Capt M. Segar representing MPA (The Maritime and Port Authority) of Singapore as Directors of SEA\LNG Ltd.Following elections last December, Tahir Faruqui and Xavier Pfeuty also join the SEA\LNG Board as new directors representing Shell and Total Marine Fuels respectively.Welcoming them to the Board, reappointed Chairman Peter Keller said: “2018 was an exciting year for the LNG industry and our coalition. GTT Bags Order for Three LNG Carriers, One Bunkering Vessel

GTT announces it has received several orders, since the beginning of the year, for the equipment of three LNG Carriers (LNGCs) and one bunkering vessel. The three LNGCs, offering capacities ranging from 174,000 to 180,000 m3, will be built at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI)’s. They will be fitted with the membrane containment system Mark III Flex. Their deliveries are expected for 2020. In addition, the latest evolution of the Mark III system, the Mark III Flex+ technology, has been chosen for the equipment of a first LNGC already included in the GTT order book. As a reminder, this Mark III variant permits a daily Boil-Off Rate of 0.07%V.

Dunkirk, Dunkerque Port Sign LNG Pact

Dunkirk's LNG Terminal and Dunkerque-Port signed an agreement for the development of an liquefied natural gas (LNG) station to supply tank trucks. The use of LNG by shipping has grown significantly in recent months with new projects (orders for ships, LNG supply stations, etc). There has been little reaction by way of statements or position papers from marine fuel lubricant manufacturers to the IMO MEPC70 proposals for a global fuel sulfur content cap of 0.5 percent by 2020 but they are fully aware of the implications of the proposed regulations and are taking what could be termed a ‘pragmatic approach’ to fuel regulation compliance. Total, CMA CGM Prepare for New Environmental Regulations

Total Joins SEA\LNG Coalition

Total, the world’s fourth-ranked international oil and gas company, has joined SEA\LNG, a multi-sector industry coalition created to accelerate the widespread adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel. Total is a global gas player, involved across the entire LNG chain, from extracting natural gas onshore and offshore to processing plants where it is liquefied, stored and shipped in a fleet of specially designed carriers to regasification terminals for delivery to business customers. In 2015, the Group’s LNG production was of 10.2 million tons. Total’s objective is to double its liquefaction capacity to around 20 Mt/y and increase its LNG trading portfolio to 15 Mt/y by 2020.

Total Marine Fuels Appoint New MD

Total Marine Fuels has appointed Anna Whitehouse as managing director, succeeding Christophe Girardot who has held the position for the past 4 years. Ms Whitehouse is a chemical engineer and has spent 25 years working in the petroleum industry, including 20 years within the Total group holding various positions in France, the UK and abroad. A company statement says that her 10 years experience in Asia, working mainly in the lubricants and retail businesses, will help her develop Total Marine Fuels in that region. “Today,” says Ms Whitehouse, “Total Marine Fuels has several faces. In Europe our aim is to market bunker fuels produced by the European refineries of the Total group including Le Havre, Donges, Fos/Lavera and Antwerp.

New Barge Speeds Le Havre Bunker Options

TOTAL Marine Fuels has increased its bunkering capacity at the port of Le Havre and at the Port 2000 container facilities with the delivery of its new bunkering barge, Cimil. The 4,500 tonne capacity bunker tanker is highly manoeuvrable and can deliver blends and different grades at 500 tph. Christophe Girardot, General Manager TOTAL Marine Fuels, says, "Cimil is a modern and flexible barge which will complement the bunker delivery capacity we have in Le Havre with our current barge ST Sara. It will improve service to our contract clients, mostly liner and cruise operators, while allowing us to offer a replacement to the  ntifer pipeline service for tankers, which is out of service this year.

TOTAL Increases Le Havre Options with New Barge

Total Marine Fuels has increased its bunkering capacity at the port of Le Havre and at the Port 2000 container facilities with the delivery of its new bunkering barge, FS Sara. At the same time, TMF is also making low-sulphur fuel oil available at the French port for the first time. The double-hulled seagoing FS Sara has capacity for 7,500 MT of fuel oil and 500 MT of MGO, and is to start work immediately. TMF products now available at Le Havre include RMK700 (500cSt), IFO 380 / 180, LSFO 380 / 180 and MGO DMA 0.1 percent.

Total Charters in New Barge Capacity in Germany

Total Marine Fuels in Germany has chartered in additional barge capacity to meet growing demand for fuel oil from customers in Hamburg and along the Kiel Canal. Total is the main bunker supplier in the Kiel Canal, and is currently selling in excess of 350,000 metric tons of fuel per year in the region. It has had the double-hulled, 1,450-ton capacity bunker barge Elbingerode on charter since the beginning of 2007. Now, in response to continuing increases in demand, it has supplemented that with the charter of the Spandau DT61, which has capacity for about 1,100 tons of heavy fuel oil and 100 tons of gasoil. TOTAL has a Kiel Canal bunker installation from whose four jetties it can supply all grades of heavy fuel oil…

Total Barges into St. Nazaire with Low Sulphur

Total Marine Fuels has started delivering low-sulphur bunkers by barge from its Donges refinery for the port of St Nazaire/Montoir, in France. Total has been supplying low-sulphur bunkers in the St Nazaire region for more than a year, but until now deliveries have only been available by truck. David Bleasdale, General Manager of Total Marine Fuels, says, “Total continues to invest in new products and services on a wide scale, with the emphasis where necessary on the need to supply low-sulphur fuels to key markets. “Elsewhere, we are working towards offering low-sulphur fuel in Fos/Lavera next year, while CEPSA, where Total is a significant shareholder, is ready to offer it now in Algeciras. Zeebrugge, meanwhile, is a big success story for Total.

TOTAL Doubles 500 cSt Offering at Fos-Lavera

TOTAL Marine Fuels has doubled its capacity to provide 500 cSt bunker fuel at the French port of Fos-Lavera, near Marseilles. TOTAL began offering the fuel at Fos-Lavera in January of this year, and has now doubled its 500 cSt storage facilities at the port from an initial 10,000 to 20,000 metric tons. Several large bunker stems have already been sold, and Pascal Zoonekyndt, Zone Manager for Total France, says, “We continue to improve our logistics and product offer in line with the needs of our customers. Product can be delivered to ships by two barges operating under charter to TOTAL, carrying between them 5,250 metric tons.
