Maritime TV Gets Development Funding

TV worldwide internet TV Channel –  Maritime TV –  receives strategic investment for new program development and expansion. TV Worldwide, (www.TVWorldwide.com ), a pioneering web-based global TV network since 1999, announces that one of its subsidiary Internet TV Channels, Maritime TV, (www.MaritimeTV.com ), has received a strategic investment from the ALCC, Inc. Pension Plan Trust. Maritime TV says it is now the industry's pre-eminent channel for live and archived webcasts and video presentations involving the commercial and military shipping industry. TV Worldwide added that the investment proceeds would be used to fund the development of new programming in an expanding live and on-demand content line-up as well as in channel infrastructure development, worldwide.

SOCP Meeting Set for March 2-3 in Houston

The Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) invites maritime industry representatives to attend the March 2-3, 2004 SOCP meeting in Houston, TX, that is being hosted by ConocoPhillips Marine. SOCP’s agenda features guest speakers (invited) from American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the Port of Houston Authority. The agenda will include a discussion panel that will specifically address maritime safety programs and their implementation within various maritime organizations. In addition, the meeting will include a presentation from ABS Nautical Systems LLC on Version 5 of their Improved Life-Cycle Management software, a presentation from VIDEOTEL on technologies and products that they offer designed to improve safety, and a presentation on Cellular Internet Connectivity Applications.

MaritimeTV.com Will Broadcast SOCP Meeting

MaritimeTV.com, an Internet TV channel on the TVWorldwide.com network, announced today that it will provide live web coverage of the Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) meeting to be held June 11 and 12 at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Philadelphia, PA. The meeting will focus on Maritime Security and Legislative Issues with a full spectrum of industry speakers addressing a range of other maritime issues including technical presentations on Forward Looking Sonar and Ballast water testing. Speakers will be able to communicate with colleagues in the industry who could not attend in person via a live, interactive video webcast. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the webcast.

MMA To Host Fishing, Ferry Industry Event

The Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) invites the maritime industry to attend the next SOCP meeting on June 12-13, 2001 at Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. The meeting will feature Mr. Bernardo Obando-Rojas, Seafarers International Research Center, Cardiff University speaking on fraudulent Practices for Certificates and Endorsements. Topics being covered will include an Alternative Fuels discussion panel, panel discussions on Issues Facing Fishing and Ferry Operators, a presentation on Air Emissions Regulations and Technologies. At dinner, Mr. Jim Zok, Associate Administrator for Financial Approvals and Cargo Preference, under whose stewardship SOCP falls, will provide a perspective on SOCP's past, present and future.

MaritimeTV.com to Webcast SOCP Coverage

MaritimeTV.com, an Internet TV channel on the TVWorldwide.com network will provide live webcast coverage of the Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) meeting to be held June 3 in Pittsburgh, Pa. The webcast meeting will feature presentations and a discussion panel with an inland water focus. The webcast will conclude with a presentation from Captain Ernest Fink, USCG, who will provide an update on the Merchant Mariner Documentation (MMD) & the Mariner Licensing and Documentation (MLD) reorganization. “We’re very excited to again be offering the meeting proceedings on the web to allow members who could not attend the opportunity to tune in live for interactive participation,” commented SOCP organizer Todd Ripley of the U.S. Maritime Adminstration.
