Brasco, APM Terminal Pact for Offshore Support

Wilson Sons Inaugurates Second Shipyard in Guarujá
The Wilson Sons Group is set to inaugurate the second Wilson Sons Shipyards unit in Guarujá (Brazil) next Thursday, April 18th. As a result of a $60 million (USD) investment, the shipyard, which builds tugboats and offshore support vessels, is expected to double its production capacity and employ 600 workers at its peak. The shipyard, which has been named Guarujá II, is equipped with a dry dock which is 26 meters in width and 135 meters in length. These dimensions will allow for the construction of a wide range of larger vessels with higher specifications, amongst which are PSVS (oil platform supply), AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply), PLSVS (Pipelaying and Submarine Cable Supply Vessels), ROVSV (Remotely Operated Vehicle Supply Vessels) and ORSV (Oil Recovery Supply Vessel).
Cargotec SmartPort Solutions at Brazilian Terminals

SmartLanes is part of the process automation offering of the Cargotec SmartPort concept and is delivered in partnership with APS Technology Group, part of Cargotec SmartPort Alliance. With its activities having started in 1837 in Salvador, the company has established itself as a well-known service provider. At the two terminals the company operates it was decided to introduce gate OCR technology to improve both security and productivity by improving the information quality and reducing human error.
