USCG Medevacs Man from Fishing Boat

A U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) aircrew hoisted a 26-year-old man suffering with head pains from a fishing boat, Thursday, the USCG reported.

At 3:45 p.m., watchstanders at Sector Corpus Christi received a distress report from the captain of the fishing boat Cap’n Willy, located 57 miles offshore of Port Aransas, stating that one of their crewmembers was suffering from a severe headache.

The USCG launched an aircrew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and an aircrew aboard an HU-25 Falcon fan-jet from Air Station Corpus Christi as well a boatcrew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Station Port Aransas to medevac the 26-year-old from the fishing vessel. The helicopter aircrew hoisted the 26-year-old man from the fishing vessel and transported him to an awaiting ambulance at Air Station Corpus Christi. EMS then transported him to Bay Area Hospital.
