ABB Wins Orders of $75M for LNG Ships

ABB’s delivery will help the ships maximize their fuel efficiency, as well as provide a reliable power supply to improve the availability of onboard equipment. The vessels will process and transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) extracted from subsea and onshore reserves.

The new projects include:

·        Electric propulsion units, generators, frequency converters and other electrical equipment for the world’s first floating natural gas liquefaction vessels, to be built for FLEX LNG by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea. These vessels will be used for the extraction, liquefaction and transport of natural gas from previously inaccessible subsea reserves.

·        Complete electrical propulsion and onboard power systems for several new transport vessels for Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd, to be built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in . The vessels will transport LNG from to .
