Changes in Swire Pacific's Top Deck

Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) announces a change in leadership with the appointment of a new Managing Director in Singapore. Mr Ron Mathison has taken over the helm as the new Managing Director on Monday, 21st September 2015.  Mr Mathison has also been appointed as Director of John Swire & Sons (S.E. Asia) Pte Ltd, with effect from 1st August 2015.
 

Mr Mathison embarked on his career with John Swire & Sons Limited (“Swire”) when he joined Cathay Pacific Airways in 1984 and has more than 30 years of experience within various divisions of the Swire Group. Prior to his new appointment in SPO, he was the Group Managing Director of James Finlay Ltd in UK for the last seven years. Before that, from 2004 to 2008, he was the Director of Cargo in Cathay Pacific Airways. Mr Mathison was previously the Director and General Manager of Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes Ltd and held a number of other senior management positions in the airline in various countries around the world.
 
Mr Neil Glenn, the outgoing MD has stepped down from his role as Managing Director of SPO on Friday, 18 September 2015.  He has also relinquished his position as Director of the SPO Board. During his years with SPO, Mr Glenn was an active member of the Singapore maritime community and has served as the Chairman of the Offshore Services Committee of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) since 2011. Under his able leadership, the company clinched the prestigious Shipowner of the Year award in April 2015, at the biennial international Maritime Awards ceremony organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. He is also a Member of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (MICS) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT). Mr Glenn will be moving on to his new appointment as the General Manager, Europe for Cathay Pacific Airways.
 
SPO’s Finance Director, Mr Nigel Gribble, has also stepped down from his current role to undertake the role of Chief Financial Officer in Altus Oil & Gas Services, a fully owned subsidiary of SPO in August. He is succeeded by Mr Amyon Chaffey, who was with Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong, and was the Finance Director of The China Navigation Co. Ltd prior to that.
 
In keeping with SPO’s focus of delivering safe, efficient and high quality services to its global clients, the safety, operations and marine manning functions at head office in Singapore have also been restructured, and resources will be added to strengthen the team. SPO’s Operations Director, Ian Offland has been re-designated as Safety and Marine Assurance Director. There will also be new additions to his team, including Christopher Bowden as Global Head of Marine Manning, Training and Competence Assurance, Grant Michels as Competence Assurance Manager and Stuart Mooney as Operations Manager.
