SpecTec Group is Proud To Announce Partnership with Mercy Ships

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

March 28, 2011

SpecTec continues its 15-year partnership with the Mercy Ships Organisation with the recent donation of AMOS Shipdex Interface (ASI).

Shipdex is the International Business Rules (The Shipdex Protocol) developed to standardise the production and the exchange of technical and logistic data within the shipping community (for more info, please, visit www.shipdex.com).

AMOS Shipdex Interface is the SpecTec module designed to take the best advantage from Shipdex Protocol datasets. This is because, ASI is capable to read and import Shipdex datasets into AMOS Business Suite Database, without retyping the manufacturer technical information.  The depicted architecture is the common scenario of a fleet managed by a ship-owner by means of the land office, which is generally in charge of the technical, operational and procurement tasks.

Mercy Ships will be using AMOS Shipdex Interface to automatically populate their AMOS Business suite database with MAN Diesel & Turbo engine Shipdex dataset.

Mercy Ships is a global charity that has operated hospital ships in developing nations since 1978. Mercy Ships brings hope and healing to the forgotten poor by mobilizing people and resources worldwide, and serving all people without regard for race, gender or religion.

“Mercy Ships is a donor-supported global charity dedicated to bringing hope and healing to the world’s poorest nations by providing life saving surgeries on board our hospital ship the Africa Mercy. The Africa Mercy is the heart of our organization.  She is a fully equipped state-of-the-art hospital, school, and home to the 450 volunteers who work with us.  Thousands will board our ship in Sierra Leone, Western Africa this year to receive sight, repair injuries, remove tumors, and learn to better care for their families and communities.  We partner with others in country to ensure sustainability and continued improvement among those we serve.”  Chris Gregg, CIO Mercy Ships.

SpecTec is honored to support the Mercy Ships organization, as such competence and dedication to helping others is seldom found. SpecTec will continue to do anything possible to assist Mercy Ships in the continuation of such a noble cause.
