Roggenbeck Appointed Director of ATB Operations for Marine Transport

Marine Transport Corporation announced that David Roggenbeck has been appointed Director of ATB operations effective February 1. Marine Transport, based in Weehawken, NJ, is a subsidiary of Crowley Maritime Corporation and part of its oil and chemical distribution and transportation services segment. In his new position, Roggenbeck will oversee all articulated tug-barge (ATB) operations from Marine Transport's Long Beach, Calif., office. He will report to Vic Goldberg, Vice President of Ship Management.

Reporting to Roggenbeck will be Captain Norman George, Manager, Cargo Operations and Captain Igor Loch, Manager, ATB Operations. Roggenbeck comes to Marine Transport from Crowley's Vessel Management Services subsidiary where he served as project manager for new construction. Most recently he oversaw the construction of four new ATBs, three of which have been placed into service on the U.S. West Coast by Marine Transport subsidiary Intrepid Ship Management. The fourth of the 155,000-barrel ATBs is undergoing final outfitting and will soon join its sister vessels on the West Coast. Roggenbeck joined Crowley in 1979 as a Port Engineer. In 1985 he relocated to San Juan, Puerto Rico where he held several jobs of increasingn responsibility including Manager, Marine Operations, which involved the supervision of Crowley's oil barge operations. In 1991, Roggenbeck returned to Jacksonville where he served as Manager of Ship Operations and then Director of Fleet Operations, overseeing Crowley's container and Ro/Ro vessels serving the South American and Caribbean trades.
