Rolls-Royce will showcase its latest marine power innovations, including several MTU commercial marine products and systems, at the International Workboat Show 2015, December 1-3 in New Orleans. The MTU brand is part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems within the Land & Sea division of Rolls-Royce.

The company’s exhibit will feature the MTU 8V 4000 M54 Ironmen commercial marine engine. Certified for U.S. EPA Tier 3 emissions regulations without the use of exhaust aftertreatment, MTU Series 4000 Ironmen commercial marine engines are available with 8-, 12-, or 16-cylinder configurations for use in diesel-mechanical and diesel-electric propulsion systems, MTU hybrid propulsion systems, or for powering on-board gensets. Installed in diesel-mechanical systems, Ironmen engines are able to cover power requirements from 1,000 to 2,680 bhp (746 to 2,000 kW), while diesel-electric drives and marine gensets deliver 895 to 2,000 kW power output.

Rolls-Royce / MTU will also offer an advanced look at MTU’s new Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system. When released, the new SCR system will enable MTU Series 4000 Ironmen marine engines to be compliant with EPA Tier 4 and IMO Tier III emissions regulations.

Additionally, Rolls-Royce will exhibit a crane model and its DP simulator, a system vessel operators can use to practice maneuvering around an oil platform in a wide range of realistic situations and sea conditions.

Another highlight will be MTU’s fully integrated Blue Vision New Generation ship automation system and MTU ValueCare. A suite of dedicated service and support offerings, MTU ValueCare includes replacement parts and service solutions such as remote monitoring, maintenance contracts and remanufactured products, specifically designed for MTU engines and systems.
