Kvaerner Wins EPC Contract for Hebron GBS Project
ExxonMobil Canada Properties has released the option for Kvaerner's joint venture company Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors to provide the full scope of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the Hebron Project gravity based structure (GBS). The contract value for Kvaerner's share of the full EPC contract is approximately $1.5 billion and includes work conducted to date on the Hebron project.

Proposed Canadian LNG Export Terminal Gets License
The federal government approves a 25-year export licence for shipping LNG from Kitimat, a West Coast terminal proposed by a Shell consortium . The licence awarded to LNG Canada, a consortium of Shell, Korea Gas Corp., Mitsubishi Corp., and PetroChina International, will allow the export of up to 24 million tonnes of LNG per year, the largest of three export licences awarded to date, according to The Canadian Press. The keel of the offshore patrol vessel being built for the Finnish Border Guard was laid at STX Finland Oy’s Rauma Shipyard. The event was witnessed by representatives of STX Finland, Finnish Border Guard, classification society and media. Scheduled for delivery in November 2013, the 96 meter long and 17 meter wide vessel uses some of the latest technologies and environmentally friendly innovations in accordance with the Government decision-in-principle on sustainable public procurement.
