Shipping Giants Confirm Interest for Haropa
Haropa-Port of Le Havre is in the heart of the new "P3 Network" of shipping lines in Europe scheduled by the world’s three leading shipping lines: MAERSK Line, MSC and CMA-CGM.
Haropa-Port of Le Havre gets ahead of its direct competitors for the number of services allocated by the "P3 Network." Five Asia-Europe services out of the eight will actually be set up in 2014 between Asia and Northern Europe and three transatlantic services. The future services which will call in at Le Havre will offer direct calls to new ports, especially Japanese ports. Compared with the existing services performed by the three shipping lines, the transit times will be highly improved, both on import and on export.
In the major league
Selecting Le Havre is not made by chance, Hervé Cornède said, as HAROPA Commercial & Marketing Director. It is especially the fruit of our investments at Port 2000 – amounting to almost €1 billion –Owing to this tool which, very often, has been said to be the terminal of the 21st century by some shipowners because of its capacity to receive the biggest fully laden ships in operation today and tomorrow, Haropa is equipped with a competitive tool, which places us, today, and more than ever, in the major league.
Let’s remind that the P3 network, whose coming-on-stream is due to happen in the second quarter of the year 2014, aims at streamlining the services of 255 vessels broken down in 29 shipping lines on the Asia to Europe, Transpacific and Transatlantic routes. It will make it possible for each of the three shipping lines to offer more crossings and slots
