New Silverado 3000 Fuel Line for Outboards

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

May 1, 2009

Shields has introduced a new multi-layer EPA-compliant fuel line engineered and manufactured for outboard powered boats. The Shields Silverado 3000 outboard fuel line, is designed for use in above deck primer bulb assemblies. In addition to meeting EPA regulations for evaporative emissions, Shields Silverado 3000 fuel line also meets California Air Resources Board (CARB) standards for small engine use.

To ensure this fuel line performs in the harsh marine environment, Shields uses advanced thermoplastic construction. The unique design resists damage from prolonged UV exposure, while providing a unique barrier layer to prevent permeation. This new fuel line is also resistant to Ethanol fuel blends. To help prevent vapor lock, Shields also designed its new fuel line with a gray exterior that stays cooler in hot environmental conditions.

Shields offers boaters and the boating industry its Silverado 3000 fuel line in two sizes, 5/16 inch inside diameter and 3/8” inside diameter, to accommodate a wide range of outboards. Shields Marine Hose is making this new fuel line available to the marine industry in 10 ft, 25 ft and 50 ft lengths.
