Damen Reaches New Standards With Cat Power

Based in Gorinchem, Holland, Damen Shipyards Group is now providing Cat engines as standard equipment in most of its core vessels.

Damen, which owns and operates 24 newbuild and repair yards all over the world, will provide the standard engines in harbor, river towing, and coastal and ocean going tugs ranging in power from 200-2,500-bhp.

A preferred option in patrol boats, pilot vessels, fishing boats and megayachts, the engines are preferable in a new range of inland waterways fast ferries from Damen.

According to Damen shipyards Gorinchem managing director Rene Berkvens, "Damen has already sold five Cat powered fast passengers craft 'Waterbus" used on the Dutch inland waterways based on a license from NQEA Australia."
