STX Canada Marine would like to congratulate Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards on the award of the contract for the Canadian National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS) for non-combat vessels.

As a First Tier partner, STX Canada Marine (STXM) is proud to have supported the Seaspan Team in the development of the NSPS proposal and looks forward to a long-term relationship with them and being a part of the revitalization of Canadian shipbuilding on the West Coast. Under the contract, the Seaspan Team will design and construct the Joint Support Ships, the Polar Icebreaker, the Offshore Oceanographic Support Vessel, and the Offshore Fisheries Science Vessels.  STXM and their subcontractor Genoa Design International (GDI) will provide ship design and production engineering services.  STXM will also bring the production expertise of its parent company, STX Offshore and Shipbuilding, to the program to assist Seaspan in optimizing all aspects of the ship construction process within its facilities.

Since its establishment in Vancouver, July 1983, STXM has become one of the leading consulting naval architecture and marine engineering firms in Canada. STXM is a wholly owned subsidiary of STX Offshore and Shipbuilding in Korea and offers professional design engineering and shipbuilding technology services to clients throughout North America and internationally.
