Winter Storm Closes New York/New Jersey Terminals
All marine terminals at the Port of New York and New Jersey are expected to close around 3: 30 p.m. today and remain closed all day tomorrow as a severe winter storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall to the area.
Weather forecasts predict that total snow accumulation will likely exceed two feet throughout the port, with expected gale force winds causing drifts to be even higher.
The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey said closing times may be adjusted depending on changing weather conditions, and a decision about Wednesday closings will be made by noon tomorrow.
