Port of Oslo VTC Service Threatened by Strike

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

May 27, 2014

A threatened strike by municipal/communal services could affect the Norwegian Port of Oslo's Vessel Traffic Control for maritime traffic entering/leaving the port starting from 27 May, 2014.

If the strike goes ahead, it will involve seven of the port’s Traffic Control staff. However, it is expected that the remaining staff will maintain normal, or near normal operations, from 27 to 31 May.

In the event that the strike continues beyond the end of the month, all vessel traffic at
Oslo - including ferries and charter boats – will come to a halt.
