Pilbara Ports' Throughput Zooms

Pilbara Ports Authority has delivered a total monthly throughput of 60.5 million tonnes (Mt) for the month of December 2016. This is an increase of 12% from the same month in 2015.

The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 44.5 Mt, an increase of 17% from the previous year and a new monthly throughput record for the Port. Iron ore exports for the month totalled 43.9 Mt an increase of 17% from the same month in
2015. Imports totalled 149,000 tonnes, a decrease of 10,000 tonnes or 6% from the previous year.

The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 15.9 Mt, a slight increase from the previous year. Imports totalled 83,000 tonnes, an increase of 10,000 tonnes or 13% from the previous year.
