The Egyptian Presidency has declared a month-long State of Emergency, with a curfew starting from 14, August 2013.

As new political developments unfold in Egypt, Suez Canal transits and operations at all ports continue as normal, unaffected by the unrest reports GAC.

However, in view of developing situation, subject to updates, GAC Egypt recommends suspending crew changes/spares delivery and other similar operations until further notice.

Owners and operators with vessels at Egyptian ports are urged to take further protective measures in addition to standard safety procedures.
